What to do when someone you know is grieving?

I am writing this post because Money Saving Mom had asked a question for ideas on what to do for a family when someone passes. My mother passed away when I was 18 years old and there were many friends and family that jumped in to care and love on us. This list can be ideas for someone very close or even a neighbor. So here is a list of ideas: 1. Meals! No one even thinks about food so cooking is a chore. Think about making a few meals that can be in the freezer and just thrown in the oven. Or think about organizing a few meals to be dropped off that are all prepared and ready to eat. I organize meals at my church for any deaths, new babies, or anyone injured. It is a real blessing to them and many ladies I know like to cook so it works out well. 2. Kids! If they have young children consider taking them for the day so they can prepare for the funeral and do all necessary paperwork etc. Even consider taking the kids a few days after the funeral. It will really allo...

Walgreens nightmare turned out great...

I was all ready to head out to Walgreen's today.  I had my coupons and I new I would make 3 transactions to get the best deals. My first two transactions were great, no issues, but my 3rd one was terrible.   The cashier said my total was over $16 and I asked are you sure you got all my coupons and she assured me she did.  I paid then looked through my receipts.  I got 3RR for the Melatonin and 1RR for the sponge, but I never received my $5 for the four Dove products I purchased, in fact they rang up higher then the sale price of 4 for $15.  So I went back to the manager and she was trying to tell me that RR will not print if you use coupons... most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  She made no sense at all since my purchase right before that I purchased two Advil products and used 2 $2 off coupons and still got $5 RR at the end of that purchase.   I still have no idea what that lady was trying to explain to me but she coul...

Mommy, I cant...

"Mommy I CANT, Mommy I cant!"   These were the words out of my 3 year olds mouth today.  She wanted me to help dress her doll.  I told her to try it herself since she is a big girl. Then she said something that got me thinking.  She said, "no mommy, I cant do it because you can do it."  Is she not wanting to try things on her own because she knows I can?  Is she being lazy?  I know it is a typical toddler remark, but I want her to be more independent and not ever think she cant do things.  Her daddy is a great example of a can do attitude.  My hubby knows he can do anything with the right preparation.  I want her to get that down!  TRY TRY AGAIN my sweet lil girl!  You can do it!
