Brave 3D- My thoughts

How many of you have gone to see Brave ??  I took my daughter and her friend to go see it as it was on our summer bucket list!  :) So what did I think of the film?? I am going to be honest...I enjoyed it but I think Tangled is better.  There I said it...needed to get that off my chest.  :) The plot reminds me of Pocahontas...there were several similarities.  Brave had a very neat story line about a girl chasing her dreams but hurting her mother and others trying to chase it.  She gets mixed up in bad news when she met a witch who she thinks will help her solve her problems.  This can be applied to our every day lives simply by reminding ourselves that the enemy will try to get a foothold in any way possible just like the witch!  Within the story there are 2 bears and my 4 year old and her 6 year old friend both were a bit frightened but they handled it well!  I do think that some of the story went over my 4 year old's head but she s...

Campus Book Rentals teams up with Operation Smile!!! :) :)

Are you or someone you know going to college in the fall?  Has your jaw dropped when seeing the price of text books and then drop even further when you find out one class has 5 books!!  :(  I remember the days of college and all the books.  I went to a school that rented out all the text books so I did not have to worry, but most colleges do not offer that.  Most students have to purchase their own books.  Look no further for the best deals on text books:  http://www.campusbookrentals.com/  find all your textbooks.  You pay no shipping, get the books use them and highlight them, then return them.  They have served over 5000 colleges today and it keeps growing.  What a neat program!!!!  :) :)   Campus Book Rentals just got even better because they have teamed up with Operation Smile.  Operation Smile performs life changing cleft lip surgeries on children whose families could not afford it.  Campus Book Rentals i...

Creativity For Kids: Big Fun Stamp Art Review and GIVEAWAY

We are near the middle of summer already and I am willing to bet that many of you parents have heard the dreaded "I'm bored" from your kids!!??  Am I right? Wait no longer go check out all the neat products at  Creativity for Kids !  They have a ton of great products from arts and crafts, pretend, wood fun, and so much more! I was given the Big Fun Stamp Art to conduct my review, all opinions are 100% mine. Right when we opened the package my daughter was giddy with anticipation.  The box allows for all the bright colors to show and she was so excited!  The kit came with 3 washable ink pads in blue, yellow, and red.   There were 8 markers and 12 stamps.  Also in the kit was a little booklet showing some pictures to help get some creative juices flowing.  My daughter immediately saw the caterpillar and a present in the booklet and she recreated it.  My son also enjoyed playing with the markers and a couple stamps! ...

Best Daddy Ever!

I got to sit back and enjoy watching my hubby interact with our kids last night.  We were at a 4th of July celebration and as we were waiting and listening to a polka band the kids were snuggling and having daddy time.  :)   I adore it and I love seeing how much love they each have for each other.  I pray that the love and time that my hubby and I have for our children grows.  We never want our children to have to fill our time and love with someone else.   I also want to talk about the 4th of July celebration we attended!  IT WAS AWESOME!!!  I really felt like it did such a great job of being patriotic!  Most of the time now you go see fireworks and that is it, people are having BBQ's and having fun but we neglect to remember how and why we are celebrating our INDEPENDENCE!  At this celebration there were 2 characters who shared some history with us, Abe Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.  It was a breath of fresh air to listen an...

Selah's Fundraising Outcome

Today was the day we set up Selah's Snack Shack and waited for customers to come.  :)   We had a RED, WHITE, and BLUE theme for the day since it is 4th of July weekend.  :)  On our menu 4 different Kool-Aid drinks, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered pretzels, red/white/blue Rice Krispie treats, and lots of cookies.  :) Everything tasted GREAT!  I am very pleased at how many random people stopped by, but you can also see the people who are trying their very hardest to avoid you with the no eye contact thing.  It's OK I understand life is busy.   I am very proud of my daughter for wanting to do this.  :)  I wish we had raised more money to fight Leukemia but either way I am still impressed with the sales and money that came from a 2 hour  lemonade stand.  :) :)  I think everyone knows someone who has battled CANCER now, it might not be an immediate family member but it seems tha...
