Join Pugtato and his cute and quirky pack of pals in this heartwarming picture book that celebrates the power of friendship, compassion, and believing in your own unique gifts.  When Pugtato’s simple, quiet life is disrupted after he digs up a strange object in his garden, he enlists his best “spuddies” to help (they are more clever than he is, after all). Tweetroot is certain it’s a new egg for her nest. Tomatoad is quite sure it’s a toy just for him. And Purrsnip simply won’t stop scratching it! Luckily, Pugtato has another  very  special spuddy to ask … Pugtato Finds a Thing : Introduces kids 4-8 to a hilarious mash-up of pet and vegetable characters by the inimitable illustrator Sophie Corrigan Written in delightful, giggle-inducing, rhyming text Eye-catching cover features spot gloss and embossing   My Review: This is a cute and silly little book that is great for kid...

Book Review: "Very Beary Stories" 3 books in 1

I Can Read: The Berenstain Bears Very Beary Stories 9780310768425; Hardcover; On Sale Date 05/26/2020 Featuring three favorite stories from the Berenstain Bears Living Lights library,  Very Beary Virtues  is the perfect collection of stories for children learning to sound out words and sentences. As they read along, little ones will be inspired to play fair, respect others, and work together—just like their favorite family of bears! My Review: It has been awhile since I reviewed a Berenstain Bear book!   I know you already know I love them!  I love that they incorporate such good values!   The first book, "Play a Fair Game" did not disappoint.   Well, actually the adults in it were disappointing!   I could relate as a parent going to a kids sporting event to see parents acting out in such a manner that it took away the fun for the kids.   I imagine it happens often.  I love how the older lady...

Book/Bible Review: Artisan Collection Bible for Girls

Here we go again... I got this wonderful and beautiful Bible in the mail and immediately Selah my 12 year old daughter was begging to make it her new Bible.   (She has so many Bibles so I was like I think we need to bless someone else, and now she is mad!)  This art collection bible has some other great features.   You can see some of those great features in the image below.   I really like the the pages of this bible are thicker.  It makes me more likely to take notes in the side margins that are provided because the paper isn't so thin.    Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book for free in exchange for an honest review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Book Review: "Stand- Up Guys -50 Christian Men who Changed the World

Testimony time is one of my favorite things at church!   We give people the opportunity to share what God is doing in their lives.  This book reminds me of testimony time.  I love being able to read how God has used different people from all over the world to help grow his kingdom!   I asked my son which story was his favorite so far as we aren't all the way through it yet.  He picked Tony Dungy!   Not too surprising because he loves football!   This one is also more relate-able because he is still alive today where several of the men in this book have already passed away.  Either way we still think this is a great book!  WE think it would make a great addition to anyone's Easter basket!   Thanks Zondervan for sending this book for free in exchange for an honest review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Book Review: "Captain Snout And The Super Power Questions"

Book Description:  Captain Snout and the Super Power Questions; Don’t Let the Ants Steal Your Happiness , written by board-certified child psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen, playfully encourages children to correct their negative thinking patterns in order to live happier and healthier lives. Comical illustrations bring the story alive as our main character, Captain Snout, reveals the superpower questions that can rid us of our automatic negative thoughts (ANTs) and lead to accurate and truthful thinking. This picture book, based on a popular Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy technique, will help readers do just that. My Review: Thank you, Zondervan and the ZSquad for sending me this book for free in exchange for an honest review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was very excited to read this book because in the title it says, " Super Power Questions" and that made me curious.  Then also on the cover, it says, "Don't ...

Book Review: "Bless our Pets" a Berenstain Bear Book

In the newest Berenstain Bear Living Lights title,  The Berenstain Bears Bless Our Pets , Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear love their pets Little Lady, Gracie, Swish, and Cutsie … they are just like part of the Bear family. So when Preacher Brown holds a special Blessing of the Pets service on Sunday, the Bear family joins in. But what starts as a peaceful gathering of Bear Country neighbors and their animal friends on the lawn of the Chapel—including dogs, cats, rats, goats, and even a snake or two—ends up needing a little heavenly intervention. My Review: This new Berenstain Bear book is being released today March 7th!   I'm not going to lie I was a little worried at where this story would go since our Bible does not say a whole lot about pets and heaven, etc etc.   At the beginning it did have Proverbs 12:10- The righteous care for the needs of their animals. An appropriate scripture to start us out with.  The book introduces that the church...

Book Review- "God Mad You Nose to Toes"

Help little ones understand that God created each part of their bodies so they can enjoy life and everything in it. In this delightful padded cover board book by well-known author and family therapist Leslie Parrott, children can follow along with Toucan––with a great big nose––as he helps them learn God loves each one of them completely. My Review: Here is another board book for younger children.  I always try to teach my children that they were made on purpose, for a purpose, and with a purpose!   This book is a good introduction to teaching children that God made every part of them and then you can discuss the importance of how we are made in God's image!  My kids had some giggles when it talked about the animals God made so we can laugh!   Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review!  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.

Book Review: "Christmas Love Letters from God"

Written for children ages four to eight, Christmas Love Letters from God cleverly combines both prose and poetry as the story of Jesus’ birth unfolds. The book includes seven stories, beginning with Isaiah’s prophecy and ending with the visit of the wise men. Following each story, the child will find his or her own letter from God, folded into a small envelope attached to the page. Each letter begins with a space in which to write the child’s name, so each one can be specially addressed to the child. Written as if God is speaking, each personalized message gives the young reader a sense of wonder as they discover anew the Christmas holiday and the birth of Jesus. A very special Bible verse, entitled God’s Perfect Promise, also accompanies each story and letter as God’s personal words of love, promise, and hope. My Review: I have reviewed other "Love Letter" books and I adore them.  My kids enjoy having a letter just for them each time.    This version is a goo...

In the newest Berenstain Bears Living Lights book, The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel, the cubs discover there’s more to angels than wings and flowing white robes! It is almost Christmas and there is finally snow in Bear Country. Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear are ready for some winter fun! Later, as they warm up with some hot cocoa, Mama and Papa give the cubs a little lesson about some very special angels and the work they do for God. Owl Always Love You- Book Review from Flatten Me with Giveaway!

Can you see how happy he is to get his new personalized book?  :)  We had to read it two times through as soon as we got it.  I would read it over an over if he wanted, I am so thrilled he loves reading books.   Flatten Me and their story: All stories have a beginning. This is ours. Years ago, my husband caught our daughter on film eating a gobstopper – 15 photos taken over 24 minutes and 10 seconds. The photos were arranged in a book and given to my daughter as a special gift. It was love at first sight. My daughter slept with it, ate with it, took it on road trips. Love-worn and long-admired, the book slowly fell apart, just like the fur on the Velveteen Rabbit. Our lives are defined by stories – stories of childhood, of triumph, of loss. Even wild stories of the imagination. When a child pretends to be a pirate or a princess or a fairy, she truly believes she has changed, become part of a different world for that moment in time. She ha...
