Cone-ing to Fight Leukemia! **Video Included**

Why on Earth would I have ice cream smashed on my forehead?  I had a challenge with my daughter to raise money for Light the Night 2013.  We each needed to raise $100 in one week and we successfully completed the challenge thanks to awesome friends and family.   I have the video below and I hope it makes you giggle.  It sure would be a blessing if you were able to donate a little to help fight cancer.  :)  Just follow this link to donate:  http://pages.lightthenight.org/mn/TwinCiti13/AFlanigan FIND A CURE FOR CANCER!!!

Light the Night 2013 Campaign

CANCER CURED... I bet we all can agree that when a cure for Cancer is found there will be lots of celebrations world wide!  I remember in high school my teacher said in only a couple years you will know someone who has or had cancer, sadly I never thought it would be my mother.  Whats worse is being able to count more and more people I know who have battled this disease!  If you have followed my blog you have seen a post here or there especially in the month of October hearing about the loss of my mother due to her battle with leukemia.   Ten years may have passed since her going home to Jesus party but the heart ache still is present.  This year my family is helping to make a difference.  We have formed team Bette Boop, thanks to my sister who started this team last year!  I am so proud of her efforts last year that it made me so eager to jump on board the team and get raising funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. ...

Autism and Service Dogs-Help Gracie

I have a dear friend with a 2.5 year old dignosed with Autism.  Well technically  Gracie was diagnosed with PDD-NOS and a Sensory Processing disorder at 20 months. She is now 2 ½. She is a beautiful, smart, and mischievous girl. She loves her mom and dad and big sister Emma with all her heart. She has also always had a special love for animals, just like her mom! Her parents noticed something different about Grace at 14 months. She just wasn’t responding like other children. Her tantrums were way beyond what was normal for a child of her age. She stopped talking, and seemed to be unable to cope with anything that didn’t happen just the way she wanted it to. She had certain repetitive behaviors that she just couldn’t seem to stop such as opening and closing our cabinet doors and spinning in circles. It was not uncommon for her to scream for hours, throw herself off of  her highchair, or to bang her head on the floor or walls repeatedly. Currently Gracies family is fun...
