Vroom Vroom Vroom: Car Fun

Fun Car Tunnel!  One long tube and a handful of cars made this little boy stay occupied for a long time.  There were lots of giggles, car races, and chasing the cars during this play.   It excites me when I can take something I was going to throw away and create a new way to play with it.  I mean what 2 year old would not want to have a huge tunnel for their cars?  One way to change it up and create some education for this activity is to put the tunnel at different heights to see the different speeds the cars will travel.   My son also tried to put cars on top of the tunnel rather then in the tunnel to watch them crash and fall.  Since this we have colored all over the tube and now it is one colorful bridge!

Keeping Toddlers Busy with Baby Food Caps

If you are looking to reuse some of the items you may have around the house then look no further.  This fine motor activity is sure to keep those toddlers busy and entertained for a little while.   I used baby food jar caps and wrote letters on each cap for other letter work with my preschooler but when my toddler showed such an interest in them I found a tupperware container cut a hole and then allowed him to put the caps in the hole.   Who knew that this activity would provide me 30 minutes of uninterrupted cleaning time!  Yes, these boys both played with this for 30 minutes!  They were also stacking the caps but they had fun putting them in, taking them out, and did a pretty descent job of turn taking!  I know most of you have similar things laying around your house so get get started on making this for your toddler.

Playing Boats

It amazes me how different playing with my daughter and my son truly are.  I have a very girly girl and I have my tough boy!  It is absolutely eye opening comparing how each play and rethinking about my daughter when she was the age of my son.  It also makes me more aware of being a better teacher, they have completely different learning styles and being aware now is very beneficial.   One thing I have mentioned is he is not a fan of the bath unless I make it fun!  You can find lots of bath ideas here on my blog.  Bath time is not just for getting clean, there is lots of fun and learning that can take place! One thing I bought for him from one of my swap groups is some boats.  We have two small boats for the bath tub and my son loves using them in his bath or even out of the bath.  He pushes them and sinks them and tries to park them in the boat warehouse when he is done with his bath.  At almost 2 years old he has ...

Toddler Rainbow Craft for St. Patricks Day

St. Patrick's day is March 17th so its approaching quickly.  I have a few ideas on art and food projects that i want to do with the kiddos.  Hopefully I will have enough time to complete them and share them with you.   This was a super easy one for those little hands.  I cut the stripes of colored paper but if you are working with a preschooler or school aged child then they can practice cutting.  The two toddler boys here only had to glue the pieces on their piece of paper.  EASY, but they enjoyed it!  :)  This is also a great craft for anyone doing ADHD parenting , as it’s simple to explain and can give you a break while the kids enjoy the process. It sure has brightened my kitchen with them hanging on the fridge!  :)   I also talked more about the Promise God gave us with the rainbow since I know that history a whole lot better then the history of the Irish Holiday!

Little Green Pouch Review and Giveaway

Thank-you Little Green Pouch for sending me your product to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions are 100% mine. The Story behind Little Green Pouch :  "With Maggie’s first son, Kelley, trips to the grocery store were definitely on her “dread” list. When she had her second son, Finnegan, aka the Finn-A-Monster, it moved to the top of that list. But then Maggie’s grocery store began stocking those food pouches you've probably seen. On one particular visit, after substantial clamoring, Maggie caved and popped the tops of two pouches. A miracle ensued - she watched in amazement as her boys sat quietly in the cart, working out ounces of healthy fruits and veggies, which they wouldn’t dare eat out of a bowl. Never missing an opportunity, she sped through the remaining grocery store aisles in relative peace. By the time the shriveled pouches moved along the conveyor belt to checkout (yes, she paid for them) Maggie realized that sh...
