Blue Cast, New Chapter

The long-awaited day finally came— cast removal day! I was honestly excited but also a little nervous. When you’ve had a cast on for weeks, you can’t help but wonder: “Is it actually healing under there? What’s it going to look like?” When they pulled out the saw, my heart rate definitely spiked. I had this irrational fear they’d nick my incision or make me jump from the vibration. Thankfully—no pain, no mishaps, and the best part? The doctor looked at my incision and said it was healing “ nicely. ” Music to my ears.  Of course, then came the stitches removal.  Let’s just say, that part wasn’t as pleasant. I distracted myself by staring at the bone posters in the room, trying to pronounce words I’ll never use in everyday conversation. Silly as it sounds, it worked! Before I knew it, the stitches were out (though not without a few winces), and I could breathe again. Then came the next step— new cast time . I picked blue (one of my favorite colors 💙). But wow, this ...

Mommy VS Doctors

I know this blog is positive but every now an again a mom has to vent a little.  This vent is mommy vs. DOCTORS and tests and IRON! I have shared that at my son's 12 month and 15 month appointment his iron count was low and that we had to see a GI doctor.  We saw the GI doctor earlier this month where we discussed his low iron and low weight gain the last couple months.  The doctor threw out some things that I was not happy to hear such as Celiac disease, heartburn, Anemia, Chrones, and Stomach inflammation.  We had to gather some BM samples and do another blood draw. I left that first appointment thinking my son is pretty healthy and does not seem to have any concerning factors for anything he had mentioned.  His iron numbers were 9.9 in April, 10.1 in June, and 9.9 in August but they want them 10.5-13.2.  So they are not too terribly low. Yesterday the nurse called with his results and his blood and poop samples all were negative...

4 Month Dr. appointment

Titus had his 4 month old check up this week.  He did a good job and got a couple shots.  He was sore and a little cranky but still a good boy.  He is healthy and happy and growing well. His weight seemed lower then I thought it would be but he had not eaten in a while.  So here were his stats: weight 13lbs 13 ounces which put him in the 25.75% height 26 inches which put him in the 78.8% Head 43 cm which put him in the 69.88 %... lower % then last times 100%!  LOL Overall he is a healthy and happy boy.
