Easter 2017

HAPPY EASTER!!! He is ALIVE!  He has Risen!  Happy Ressurection day!   I hope you took some time to reflect on all the goodness that comes with Jesus and his awesome love for us and his sacrifice but also his victory!!!    AMEN! My dad and sister traveled the 6 hours south to come see us for Easter!  It is always enjoyable but also exhausting when family comes for a visit.  My heart broke a little bit t his week as I felt some tension between my sister and I.  To be honest, I felt some persecution from her.  I know that is a big word and most the time you think of Christians overseas who face death for believing and living for Christ.   It is nothing of that nature but I did feel my sister trying to belittle the way I parent my children.  I didn't stop and let her know my feelings... I didn't argue.... I bit my tongue and prayed.  Prayed that she would have God encounter that would transform her life and...

Happy Easter!

I hope you all had a great Easter.  Ours went well even with the minor puking episode from my daughter.  She threw up all over my husband who sadly is sick now.  :(  Pray for my family!  THANKS!!  Beyond that hiccup we had my dad and sister come for dinner and the kids sure enjoyed their Easter Baskets.  My son was healthy so he was able to enjoy the Chocolate bunny!  No worries I only let him eat the ears.     Still with a smile she was excited to get a Lalaloopsy mini doll and sidewalk chalk.   The night before we had a wonderful Church celebration!  It is always a fun evening with balloons and rejoicing that we serve a living God.

Shaving Cream Eggs

Happy Easter HAPPY EASTER!  Christ is RISEN!   This shaving cream dyed eggs was a blast.  It was very messy which is part of all the fun.   I know several friends who did this style of eggs this year.  Here are a few tips to help you get your eggs to look marbleized.   1. Put shaving cream in a cake pan and add drops of food coloring.  2. Take your egg and roll it in the shaving cream and food coloring.   3. Set your eggs out to dry. 4.  Once dry wipe off the excess shaving cream.  If I were to do these eggs again I would find gloves to wear so our hands were not so pretty after.  ;)  I also would add only a couple colors to the food coloring so the colors don't mix and turn brown.   My daughter is asking to try it again so we just might have to before tomorrow.   What type of egg dyeing did you do this year?  Last year we did Kool-Aid Dyeing .   I pray you...

Sharing that JESUS is RISEN- You've been EGGED

Today the kids and I took a walk and handed out three Easter baskets with a great little message and an invitation to our church for Easter.   Thanks Fab n Free for the free printable.  My husband did change the printable into one that we could leave in a basket instead of hiding eggs in some strangers yard.   We moved to our neighborhood about a year ago and sadly we still do not know many neighbors.  So we said a prayer before we left and we had fun leaving some baskets for some neighbors.   The main idea that comes across on the sheet is "JESUS IS RISEN."  The wording on the sheet said, "You've been EGGED, there are 12 eggs in this basket but don't get discouraged when you find the empty egg because it's a simple reminder that Jesus' tomb is empty for HE IS RISEN.   Happy Easter"   This was such a simple way to share our Faith!  I encourage each of you to find simple yet practical ways to share the Love of Christ...

Glowing Easter Egg Hunt

This year we are getting creative with our egg hunt.  We still have about 2 feet of snow still outside so doing an outside egg hunt sounds cold and wet!  We put some glow sticks inside each egg and hid them inside our tent with a ton of ball pit balls.  It was a blast!  Each of my kids took several turns of finding them.   So if you are a fellow Wisconsinite or Midwestern with still a lot of snow on the ground here is a new spin for your Easter!  :) Go have some fun and make some new memories with your children, but don't forget to share the true meaning of Easter!  HE IS RISEN!!

The Easter Story for Children- Great Easter Basket Gift

Disclaimer-  I was provided a copy of this book to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions are 100% mine.  I sure feel blessed to review this awesome Easter Store.   About the story: A retelling of the Easter story by Max Lucado with Randy Frazee and Karen Hill, and beautifully illustrated by Fausto, The Easter Story for Children is sure to become a family reading tradition. Children ages 4-7 will follow along with Jesus as he completes his final tasks on the earth: the last meal he shares with his disciples, praying in the garden, the trial before Pontius Pilate, his death on the cross, his resurrection, his ascension, and finally, his gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. My Review: My daughter surprised me because she recognized the artwork was the same as a Bible that we have that have the same author/illustrator.  :)  How cool!  The illustrations are detailed with bright colors that leave you looking in...

HE is RISEN!

Praying you remember and reflect on Christ and his sacrifice for us. So thankful he is ALIVE!  :)

Easter Deviled Eggs

I had so much fun creating these deviled eggs!  Boil the eggs as normal and get the shell off and take the yolk out.  Then put the whites in water/food dye and let them soak for about an hour.  :)  They are perfect for Easter!  :)  Now it is time for me and the family to go enjoy a Good Friday meal with some church family.  :)   Thank-you Jesus for enduring pain and suffering so that I could live!   "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." - I Peter, 2:24 "We may say that on the first Good Friday afternoon was completed that great act by which light conquered darkness and goodness conquered sin. That is the wonder of our Saviour's crucifixion." - Phillips Brooks

Easter Pictures!

YAY!  Jesus is RISEN!  Here are a few pictures from our Easter Sunday.

Easter Traditions?

I am curious... Does your family have any neat Easter Traditions?   I am looking for some new traditions to do with my family.  This year we are doing a simple Easter with just the four of us.  Our family lives far away so with GAS prices and a new born we have decided to stay home.  On Sunday we will head to church for service and a Easter Egg hunt for the kids.  :) I have decided that we are going to eat ribs, bake beans, corn bread, steak fries, and ice cream.  (Non traditional Easter meal)   We already decorated Easter Eggs!  Tomorrow evening we will be heading out to a Good Friday Meal with some people from church.  I am looking forward to the evening.  :) Good God, Good Friends, and I am sure Good food!  :)  So what do you do for Easter.  How do you keep Christ in the center.  How do you teach your young children about the Cross and resurrection?   I saw a cute idea for Resurrection Rolls... they s...
