Learning to See Myself Beyond the Outfit

Another wedding… and honestly, it felt a little strange even thinking about it. You all know my injury happened at a wedding, so just the thought of going to one again stirred a few emotions. Thankfully, there was no wedding dance this time, which made it easier on the nerves and the ankle. But let’s rewind a bit. The night before the wedding, I was at a CD release party where there was dancing. And I made up my mind that I would not let fear win. I wasn’t going to let that moment from my injury define me. So yes, I danced, carefully, joyfully, and still with my crutches nearby. Then came the wedding morning. And oh boy… not the kind of battle I expected. It was cold outside, and I couldn’t find anything that felt right to wear. The beautiful dark green dress that looked perfect in my head? It felt like it was suffocating me. Dress pants? Nope, not with this boot. So there I was, standing in front of the mirror, wearing blue jeans and a sweater, feeling completely self-conscious. And ...

New Year’s Eve wedding

My husband has officiated several weddings this year but this wedding on New Year’s Eve was one of my favorites!  I’m not sure if it’s because it was his cousin getting married or because the simplicity and the beauty of the wedding.   We had fun sparklers as the bride and groom left the ceremony and walked to the reception just a block down the road! It was so beautiful as everyone held out the sparkler and the walked by.  Hope you all had fun bringing in the new year.  Happy 2019

Happy 7 Years

Today I celebrate 7 years of marriage with my best friend!  After 7 years we have 2 awesome children, have had 4 dogs, and lived at 4 different places!  It sure is an adventure that we share.  I love you Anthony, we make a great team and I love sharing life with you.

Congrats to the Newlyweds!

CONGRATS NEWLYWEDS!   A week has already flown by since the newlywed had a special and fantastic wedding day.  :)  I felt so honored to be a part of their special day.  :) The bride was stunning and I absolutely enjoyed watching the groom as his bride walked down the isle!  (It's my favorite part, while most people have their eyes glued on the bride I can't help but look at the groom!)   I get so excited as I think about the future of this couple!  I know God has some big... HUGE plans for them and I am so excited to stay in contact and here them!  :)  CONGRATS- LOVE YOU 2 On the right is a picture of me and the groomsmen I walked with.  We had some extra fun at the grand march as I made him pick me up since he is like 3 times bigger then me.  :) It was fun!  :)
