2017 Halloween

2017 Halloween!   Well, with the community Witches Walk (costume contest and parade) all completed and a success I feel relaxed.  You see, I help plan and organize that event and it stresses me out a bit.  It went well so no complaining!  After that event the next day we went to a different town to trick or treat since it was during daylight hours.  :)  We also got free hotdogs at the fire station.  YUM!   My kids were Shredder and a police officer.  Yep, they are super cute!  I love them! We didn't go trick or treating on Halloween as we had enough candy from the two previous days.   So we finally carved our pumpkins.  Selah made a pineapple and Titus made a face!  Both are cute!

2017 Pumpkin fun

Time for that ooey gooey messy fun!   Any other parent hate the mess of pumpkins?  Don't worry I got over it really fast since my home was already a big mess.   This year we again recruited dad's help with power tools to make the job get done faster.  Dad used a jigsaw to open the pumpkins fast than a knife as well as cutting out the pictures they kids drew on them.

Jack O Lantern's

Another day at the YMCA in mini care.  I think I mentioned that I work a few hours there a week.  Today we painted a plate orange to create a pumpkin and then we put pre-cut black paper to turn them into jack o lanterns.  Before we did this I read to pumpkin books.    My daughter's is on the right.  :)  Good Job Selah

Painting Pumpkins, Pine-cones, and Pebbles

We skipped the carving pumpkin's so far and decided to paint Selah's Pumpkin.  She loves to paint so much so after we were finished with the pumpkin she went on to pine-cones and then pebbles.   Tongue shot!  :)

Pumpkin Picking Fun

We got free pumpkin's on Saturday at our local park.  They have a fun event for families that included a petting zoo, scarecrow dressing contest, music, hayride, and food.  I went with a girlfriend and her 2 kids.  It took Selah a very long time to pick out her pumpkin but she found her perfect one.  :)  Titus got a free one too.  :)  There was a guy there that was carving pumpkin's and he had a ton of talent!  I love the minion pumpkin and now I have an itch to go watch "Despicable Me."  :)

Easy Pumpkin

This was a quick and easy pumpkin craft.  First find a story about pumpkin's and then have the kids rip the orange paper and glue on the pumpkin.  I pre-cut the black pieces so they only had to glue them on.

Believing in God is like...

Believing in God is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.       Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.    Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch. Happy Fall!
