House Hunting

The hubby and I have been in our apartment for almost 3 years and it's tough now with a family of 4 in a 2 bedroom apartment.  We have looked at a couple of houses in the past but remained patient and felt it was not the right time.  After much prayer we came to the conclusion that  now is the time to buy and we are going to be in this area for at least a few more years.  I say that because well, we just never know when God is going to lead us to a new ministry somewhere else.  I think one day my hubby will change from a youth pastor to a Senior pastor and we might even plant a church somewhere, but for now God has us in this town and we are going to buy and live in a house just right for our little family of 4. So have you made a list of things that you need and want in a house??  I made my list and I am so excited to go look at more houses tomorrow.  We did go on Monday and found 1 we liked but want to keep looking! So here is...

House Dreaming

I know I have mentioned that we had found a house we liked but have decided to wait because we are in a lease.  Even though the lease is month to month it states you need to have a 2 month notice of leaving and they do not allow people to leave from November-March because of winter unless we find a sub leaser, which is something I did not want to stress about.   The house was a foreclosure and was a great price!  It is not my dream house with  granite countertops  or a hardwood floor, stainless steal appliances, but it was in a great neighborhood and had a huge front and back yard.  It is still for sale at the moment which surprises me because I really thought it would go fast.  It was listed $50,000 cheaper then what it sold for in 2009!!!!  TALK ABOUT A DEAL!   Who knows maybe come spring we can put an offer on it.  God knows best for this family so I will trust his leading.  He knows the desires of my heart and I know he knows...

I have the itch to go house hunting!

Well I do have a house but not in the town we live in.  LOL!  We have renters in our old house and are not selling due to the value dropping so much the last couple years. Last year we found a house we liked and went to the credit union to get our credit score  and to see if we would qualify but unfortunately we were not approved.   The house we found was a foreclosure but now I have been seeing more and more houses for sale or foreclosed and I think we could have a cheaper mortgage and utilities with purchasing then living in our apartment.  We have a friend who is a Realtor and I get his daily emails of the properties that are on the market.  I have been seeing several houses that make me want to go take a look since the price tag is under $50,000!!  :)  WOW!!!  I know with the interests as low as they are it would be so nice to find a good property and lock in a rate for under 5%!  :) So should we go ahead...
