Sidewalk Chalk- Stain Glass Look

A little painters tape and chalk and you can create a masterpiece!    We eventual broke the chalk up in baggies and added water and then used a paintbrush to make it go faster.

Sidewalk Chalk- Animal Pose-Butterfly

I had a fun time turning my princess into a butterfly.  She had fun coloring her butterfly.  I apologize for the strange shadows but the sun won the photo battle.   Now drawing a butterfly was not hard so now I am going to challenge myself and try to draw more animals since my daughter had so much fun.   The next day we went back outside and she saw her butterfly and laid right back down on it.  :)  Need more Chalk Ideas?  Sidewalk Chalk Ideas:  Evangelize with Chalk Messages Driving and Learning Signs Chalk Paint Color game

Squirt the letter game- letter recognition and sounds with some fun. (CHALK IDEA)

What child does not love squirt bottles?  I know my kids keep finding my plant bottle and keep trying to get each other and the dog.  So instead of spraying each other I turned this into some work for my preschooler.  I have some flashcards and anytime we use them we have to be doing something more fun then flipping through them.  So I created a letter board using sidewalk chalk.  After that was completed I had my daughter hop from letter to letter saying her alphabet.  Then I got the flash cards out and she had to tell me the letter, give me the sound, and then locate it on the sidewalk and shoot and aim!  :)  She had a lot of fun.  We also got to do the letters more then one time because the water was drying so quickly!  I also would give her a number and that was how many squirts she had to squirt the letter.  (Had to sneak some math in there.)   I wish I would have done upper and lower case letters.  I really need to...

Chalk Color Game Sidewalk Chalk #6

The Color Game Thanks again to Pintrest where I found this idea from Toddler Approved .  We love fun ideas for outside and chalk!   My daughter never has played "Simon" so I called our game the Color game.  We played it similar to  "Simon" but my daughter is only 4 so trying to get long sequences was not the goal.  I also used 8 different colors so my goal was to sequence the 8 colors.  I would call out a color and she would jump on it then back in the middle.  Next I would say the same color and add one more and she would jump from one color to another and then back to the middle where I would add another color.  We would do that similar to "Simon" but we did not repeat a color so we would use all 8 colors  once.  She did a fantastic job of remembering where to go and each new color when it was added.   :)  This game was played several times for at least 45 minutes!  :) Yay!  My 16 month old a...

Sidewalk Chalk #4: Shapes and Colors

I drew some shapes with different colors on the side walk and then we had a racing game.  Who could find the color or the shape the fastest.  The girls did a great job and kept friendly competition which surprised me!  :)  After the girls got tired of that game we changed it up.  I would call out a command such as "do five jumping jacks on a triangle." Then they were getting some good exercise within practicing shapes.   We also did some practice drawing the shapes.  :)

Evangelizing through Sidewalk Chalk! (Chalk Fun Idea Number 1)

The weather is getting nice again so we are going to be outside having fun!  :)  I love warm sunshiny days!  :)   Yesterday we took the sidewalk chalk out and decided to make a message so anyone on a walk would be reminded of the Love Christ has for them.  :)   I have been talking about sharing our faith with anyone and everyone with my daughter.  Just like we are called to go in to the world and preach!  Well, I think our younger generations are going to have a powerful voice! A voice loud for GOD!  AMEN!!   For this activity I drew each letter and allowed my daughter to color them in.  Even Titus got the chalk out and in between tastes he scribbled a little too.  :)  While we were drawing this we were talking about ways to share Jesus.  We talked about some of her friends at the YMCA who she could share His love with them. We discussed what it means to plant seeds in peoples lives.  :)   Ove...
