Book Review: "Destined to Win" by Kris Vallotton

Book Description

Pastor and cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry Kris Vallotton walks Christians through the profound process of discovering their true identity and experiencing the wonder of their kingdom purposes.
Christians are often told that they were born with a purpose that reaches beyond their human strivings, but most are not sure how to break past the daily struggles holding them back, much less how to fully step into their callings.
As a pastor and the cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry, Kris Vallotton has been teaching Christians all over the world how to walk in wholeness and purpose for more than seventeen years. In Destined to Win, he passes on the lessons that will help readers discover who they really are, overcome destructive behaviors, and become equipped for their kingdom purposes.
Confronting the challenges that limit Christians—such as living shackled by past pain, fear, and unforgiveness—Vallotton offers practical solutions to the often-complex problems that undermine their destinies and derail their purposes. With personal stories and biblical teaching, Destined to Win combines practical wisdom and profound revelation to unlock the latent potential present in each person.
My Review:
Thank you Book Look program for sending me this book for free in exchange for an honest review.   This book drew me in quickly as author Kris describes some of his ministry mistakes and hardships.  It is easy for people in ministry to learn a lot from others in ministry.   I really enjoyed chapter four as it was discussing making your team... a team that would stick together like him and Pastor Bill Johnson.   It was refreshing to see that it took him awhile to realize they were made to work together.   You see I am a pastors wife and have been trying really hard to do the will of God and this chapter brought new clarity for me as my husband and I need to still gather our team.   I feel like we have been for some time but as soon as we start training a leader they are relocated and God calls them elsewhere.   The book does a good job of reminding the reader to focus on their identity through Christ.   Kris also does a good job or using Biblical stories in each chapter to clarify each point he is making.  It is a big change in mindset when you read this book... you have to remember that Christ is in me, therefore I can and will win cause he is Victorious!   I know that is a hard concept to grasp and some days if doesn't feel like winning but keep on praising Him because he is good!
Overall I have enjoyed this book and think it will help people with identity issues or those who lack self-esteem.

Common Mistakes Made When Writing a Will

Writing a will should, by all means, be a simple thing. You want to make sure that your assets are being left to your loved ones and that your final wishes are being fulfilled. Usually, they are rather straightforward, but that doesn’t mean that they are entirely foolproof. Here, we’re going to look at some common issues that can lead to disputes or delays in carrying out your will. Image - CC0 License Not Having It Witnessed Correctly One of the most common mistakes when writing a will is not having it witnessed correctly. Wills generally require the signatures of at least two witnesses who are not beneficiaries or spouses of beneficiaries. If the will is not witnessed in accordance with legal requirements, it may be declared invalid, meaning your estate would be distributed according to intestacy laws, which may not align with your wishes. It’s important to follow the witnessing procedures exactly as outlined in your jurisdiction to ensure the will is legally enforceable. Chan...

A big thank you to Andy who sent me some amazing cookies to try to conduct my review.  :)  All opinions expressed are 100 % mine and I was not paid for this review.   About Sweet Andy's Cookies: The “Thank You” Cookie In 2009, Andrew (Sweet Andy) found himself in a position like so many others at that time in our past; the economy was quickly spiraling downward and he had left his job in the financial services industry. Although Andy had an MBA in Banking and Finance and had even written a book entitled, “A Guide to Taking Control of Your Investments”, he found himself to be disenchanted with the financial industry and left to pursue “other work.”  The “other work” that Andrew pursued was with the Church and did not provide financial support for the family.  During this time Andy and his wife, Lissa, struggled to find other forms of income. They did what they could for themselves and their five children but often it was not enough. But there were...
