The First Steps to Making a Personal Injury Claim

Many people are often shaken and distressed following a fall or accident, and rightly so. Once you have cared for your health and well-being, you should consider pursuing a personal injury claim if you believe you deserve justice for a sustained injury. We are therefore providing tips on the first steps to making a personal injury claim.
Collect Evidence
An injury may not only have only impacted your physical health, but it may also have affected your mental health and financial well-being. You, therefore, should start building a case to support a potential claim.
To identify who or what caused an accident, you must start to collect any evidence that can help support a personal injury case. You should also take as many photographs as possible of your injury or any damaged caused to your belongings during to the accident.
Detail the Accident’s Impact
It is wise to write down a list of everything that has happened to you following the accident. For example, have you experienced post-traumatic stress disorder, had to attend multiple hospital appointments, lost work or wages, or do you have to pay any expensive medical bills? Write down as much as you can think about and be as detailed as you can.
Contact Witnesses
If possible, try to gather the names and contact information of potential witnesses that may have observed the injury or accident. Once you have the information, contact the people to confirm their details, and ask if they would be willing to serve as a witness for a potential case.
Take Notes from Other Victims
Was anyone else involved in the accident you experienced? If so, ensure you take notes of any conversations you have with those involved. These conversations, no matter how big or small, could help you receive the compensation you deserve.
State if You Plan a Counter Lawsuit
In some cases, an individual or company may decide to file a lawsuit against you following the injury or accident. If so, you should inform them that you are also planning to file a personal injury claim for the injuries you have sustained and any damaged caused to your property.
Consult an Experienced Personal Injury Attorney
Once you are confident you have a personal injury case, you should consult an experienced personal injury attorney. Zanes Law can provide a free, no risk consultation on the same day of an enquiry, which will allow you to make an informed decision. Thanks to their many years of experience, they will have the knowledge you need to seek and receive the compensation you rightfully deserve.
Don’t suffer in silence following an accident or fall that wasn’t your fault. Whether you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, slip and fall, trucking accident or have another type of personal injury, you should make a claim to seek financial compensation that will allow you and your family to move on from the unfortunate event.

Common Mistakes Made When Writing a Will

Writing a will should, by all means, be a simple thing. You want to make sure that your assets are being left to your loved ones and that your final wishes are being fulfilled. Usually, they are rather straightforward, but that doesn’t mean that they are entirely foolproof. Here, we’re going to look at some common issues that can lead to disputes or delays in carrying out your will. Image - CC0 License Not Having It Witnessed Correctly One of the most common mistakes when writing a will is not having it witnessed correctly. Wills generally require the signatures of at least two witnesses who are not beneficiaries or spouses of beneficiaries. If the will is not witnessed in accordance with legal requirements, it may be declared invalid, meaning your estate would be distributed according to intestacy laws, which may not align with your wishes. It’s important to follow the witnessing procedures exactly as outlined in your jurisdiction to ensure the will is legally enforceable. Chan...

Although Andy had an MBA in Banking and Finance and had even written a book entitled, “A Guide to Taking Control of Your Investments”, he found himself to be disenchanted with the financial industry and left to pursue “other work.”  The “other work” that Andrew pursued was with the Church and did not provide financial support for the family.  During this time Andy and his wife, Lissa, struggled to find other forms of income. They did what they could for themselves and their five children but often it was not enough. But there were...
