A Busy Mom's Guide To Feeding A Family

Being a mom is a full-time job at the best of times. It’s your responsibility to get your children up and ready for school. It also falls on you to keep them happy when they’re home! If you have a job as well, you won’t have much time on your hands. With all this going on, how can you find a chance to cook healthy meals for your family? In truth, there’s no easy fix. Finding time in the kitchen is never easy. Even so, there are a few things you can do to ensure your family is getting the fresh meals they deserve!

KEEP RECIPES TO HAND

Do you find you put off cooking because you hate trawling through recipe books? If you don’t have much time, a pile of recipes can be a daunting concept. The best way around the problem is to develop a filing system that works. Investing in a recipe file, or finding some way to mark your favorites, will mean they’re easy to find. A practical system may take a while to devise, but it’s worth the initial effort. Looking through every recipe book will be a thing of the past once you’ve taken this step! Even a filing system involves some maneuvering, though. If you want to eliminate your recipe books altogether, it might be worth finding out about the best recipe app. With the help of an app, you can access your favorite recipes at the click of a button. Even better, you’ll have them with you wherever you go. Why not get into the habit of planning your meals on your daily commute?

BATCH COOKING

Another lifesaver for busy moms is batch cooking. Not all recipes will suit this method, so be careful which meals you pick for the week. If you choose the right recipe, you’ll be able to double the recipe and keep portions in the fridge. For most meals, three days is the longest time you can keep them. Using this method, you could get away with cooking three meals a week, instead of seven. Before you embark on this process, consider your family’s tastes. If they don’t like eating the same thing twice in a row, this may not work! If they’re not fussy, though, this could save you a lot of time!

QUICK FIRE OPTIONS

We would all like to provide our family with healthy meals. Sometimes, though, that’s not practical. That’s why it’s always useful to have some quick meal options in the freezer. Frozen food isn’t ideal every day, but it’s not going to kill your kids to eat frozen now and again. If you have a busy week coming, stock your freezer. This will save you having to worry. All you’ll need to do is stick the meal in the oven! When choosing your options, consider the healthiest food possible. It’s possible to eat healthy, even from the freezer. Avoid fatty, sugary foods. Opt, instead, for the healthiest frozen options you can find.

Common Mistakes Made When Writing a Will

Writing a will should, by all means, be a simple thing. You want to make sure that your assets are being left to your loved ones and that your final wishes are being fulfilled. Usually, they are rather straightforward, but that doesn’t mean that they are entirely foolproof. Here, we’re going to look at some common issues that can lead to disputes or delays in carrying out your will. Image - CC0 License Not Having It Witnessed Correctly One of the most common mistakes when writing a will is not having it witnessed correctly. Wills generally require the signatures of at least two witnesses who are not beneficiaries or spouses of beneficiaries. If the will is not witnessed in accordance with legal requirements, it may be declared invalid, meaning your estate would be distributed according to intestacy laws, which may not align with your wishes. It’s important to follow the witnessing procedures exactly as outlined in your jurisdiction to ensure the will is legally enforceable. Chan...

Although Andy had an MBA in Banking and Finance and had even written a book entitled, “A Guide to Taking Control of Your Investments”, he found himself to be disenchanted with the financial industry and left to pursue “other work.”  The “other work” that Andrew pursued was with the Church and did not provide financial support for the family.  During this time Andy and his wife, Lissa, struggled to find other forms of income. They did what they could for themselves and their five children but often it was not enough. But there were...
