How to Take Quality Time Off

With the many commitments, necessities and obligations of daily life, it seems as though we’ve completely disconnected from the idea of downtime. Ask yourself, when did you last go somewhere or do something without bringing along your phone to answer calls, or your laptop to check in on emails?

This mindset has made it difficult for us to truly separate work from personal time. Yet, taking regular breaks to relax and recharge is extremely important for mental health. It replenishes your energy, refreshes your perspective and unleashes your potential to be the best version of yourself. So, here’s how you can take some much-needed quality time off.

Have an Intention

If you have a clear idea of what you want to get out of your downtime, it’ll be more likely that you’ll reach your goals and expectations of how that time is spent. There’s little benefit in doing this on autopilot as you won’t really meet your needs. Knowing what lies ahead also makes the days before your time off that bit more exciting.

Be Assertive

Time off means time off. There shouldn’t be errands and chores stacked in between, as this just makes it another day and stresses us out even more in the long run. Even if it means putting your phone on silent and hiring a babysitter for a few hours, not having to constantly worry about everything else is what truly makes for quality time off.

That said, you shouldn’t feel selfish for it, either. You can only really give to others what you give to yourself. Once you’ve taken some time to meet your needs, you’ll have more of it available for those around you and vice-versa. If anything, taking time off allows you to be the best you can be for others when you come back.

Go Somewhere

While this largely depends on your idea of quality time, most people can benefit from simply getting out and going somewhere else for a few hours, days or even weeks, depending on your situation. Whether it’s a relaxing campsite out of town or the beautiful luxury island resort of Royal Davui in Fiji, your mind will appreciate the change of scenery. Royal Davui Island in Fiji is an exclusive adults-only resort, so it may just be what you are looking for. For more information, visit http://royaldavuifiji.com/

Balance Your Schedule

The best way to incorporate as much quality time off into your schedule as possible, without impacting your productivity, is to create an optimal work-life balance. There are so many things you can do, from tending to a garden to taking a gentle walk or treating yourself to a relaxing yoga class.

You don’t have to fake a sick day to enjoy these activities. They can be incorporated into your routine, thus creating an optimal mindset where you aren’t in work/stress mode 24 hours per day. Having something relaxing to do every now and then also makes the tougher times that stand before it a little easier to get through.

Depending on what your idea of quality time is, find an empty spot in your schedule to enjoy it for a few minutes per day, hours per week or days per month. Either way, it’s important and you shouldn’t feel guilty at all for having it.

If you have a little girl and have not heard of the Knot Genie then you need to watch the following video:   "The Knot Genie™ and Teeny Genie™ Detangling Brushes were created for every mom that has endured the foot stomping and screaming matches that come with brushing their child's hair. With the Knot Genie, even the curliest, most knotted up hair practically slips through the unique bristle configuration – gently and painlessly. Try the Knot Genie on your kids (or on yourself) – you'll be amazed by the ease of brushing, as well as how it virtually stops breakage and split ends. You've wished for hair brushing standoffs to end. Wish granted." My Review:  Thanks to the Knot Genie for sending me the product to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.  I know I have grown so tired of my daughter coming to tears every morning when we did her hair. I was becoming to think she was the most

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
