Bible Review: Under the Sea Holy Bible

The  Under the Sea Holy Bible, NIrV  is a perfect gift for children ages 6 to 10. Themes of underwater fun and sparkling fish grace the interior of this wonderful children’s Bible. The outside is covered in foil and sparkle. The interior has color inserts featuring whimsical underwater scenes with themes of God’s care and love for each of us and all of creation. My Review: This Bible is sure to catch your eye!  Reminds me of "Finding Nemo!  So if you have some fish lovers then this might be the Bible for them.   This bible suggests it is for 6-10 year old's but I think it might be a bit challenging for 6 year old's.   It is the NIRV- new International Reader's Version so language is pretty easy to understand.   Through out the book there are surprise pages that are bright and eye catching.   I found two that I really loved so I took a picture to show you:   The first one is talking about prayer and using your five fingers to help and guide your p

Book Review: "Paul Meets Jesus"

Book Description Discover how Paul, once a man who did not believe in Jesus, became one of the most outspoken followers of Christ in this level 2 I Can Read, written in the tradition of the bestselling NIV Adventure Bible. My Review: This level 2 easy reader book, "Paul Meets Jesus" is an easy to read story discussing when Paul meets Jesus.  The transformation that that  occurred  with Saul to Paul is one of my favorite Biblical stories.  I love seeing how a man who hurt  Christians  finally has a God encounter and his heart is transformed.   I love to pray dangerous prayers with my children and this story led us to pray for more people to have a God encounter and have hearts transformed just like Paul's 180 turn around.   I love the easy reader series.   My daughter is 8 and is a great reader and as she read this book she used many different voices so it was adorable.   The pictures are eye catching and bright.  Overall this is a great story to add to you

Book Review: Devotional for kids "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young

Jesus Today® has been adapted in kid-friendly language, assuring your children that God is in control, that He is good, and that they can put their hope in Him. My Review: Are you looking for a devotional to share with your kids?   This is a great book to get you and your kids doing devotionals together.   This devotional is unique as the author has written it so its as if Jesus was speaking the words directly to the reader or child.   Each devotional also has several scriptures to read and discuss.  The daily devotional is only going to take you 10 minutes or less depending on how long you discuss things. There are 150 devotions one page for the devotion and the second page has bible verses to go along with it.    Disclosure:  I was given a free copy of this book from Booklook program.   I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are my own.

How to Create A Healthy Household

A sudden inclination towards promoting a healthy lifestyle goes beyond going to the gym. If you think about it, most of our hours are spent at home where we can be tempted by the sweet goodies shelved away in our pantries. It is therefore important to keep a clean and healthy home. Not only for yourself but to set a positive and active message to our kids. Here are some tips to encourage healthy living in your home: First and foremost start off by cleaning out your pantry. Scrap away that opened bag of potato chips and the leftover pizza from last night. Empty out the flat bottle of coke that your child wings for every night during dinner. Make vegetables and fruit look appetizing to encourage kids. Kids are very attracted to colorful things. Instead of ice-cream for dessert, have a fun frozen snack, such as a fruit Popsicle stick. Who said a bar fridge was only used for alcohol?  Blend a guilt-free freshly squeezed  juice. Have a selection of flavors stored in th

Eternal Salvation Review and Giveaway

With Easter right around the corner this movie is sure to spike some interest!  Eternal Salvation is a Dove Award winning movie that will capture your heart.   The story has many great elements that will sure to make you smile, teary eyed, or even giggle.  I think my favorite part would have been watching the main character interact with his christian friend.   It really showcased what a good discipleship relationship looks like!   Sometimes as a christian we do give of ourselves, or time and energy to those who do not know Christ yet.   It is a tough job but worth it when you see God transform the life and use you to be the helper!   You never know what to expect with lower budget film.   This one had me scratching my head on a couple of the actors acting ability but the leading male role did a fantastic job!   I loved how he really portrayed someone with medical problems!   There was also a scene that was meant to be eye opening to someone who needed to know Christ but it

She dreams of becoming an award-winning journalist like her mother, so she’s always looking for articles to publish in her middle-school paper (where she secretly hopes to become chief editor). With a police officer for a father, Sam is in no short supply of writing material. In the fourth book of the Faithgirlz Samantha Sanderson series, Sam’s friend Tam Lee is missing. As the days pass, all clues seem to point to something sinister in Sam’s opinion. Sam must decide whether to do what everyone wants her to and let law enforcement continue to work as though Tam is a run-away. Or should Sam follow her heart and keep poking around looking for more clues? The Samantha Sanderson series is about an ordinary girl with extraordinary dreams. Each book touches on a crime straight from headlines, from bomb threats to bullying, while following Samantha and her friends as they navigate middle-school and questions

Book Review: "A Royal Easter Story"

It is the most spectacular spring in history. The princesses—Joy, Grace, Faith, Charity, and Hope are busy with preparations for the annual Easter celebration and the castle is alive with activity. Into the kingdom ride five new friends, young knights, who are as spirited as the princesses. In the new Princess Parables title, A Royal Easter Story, a challenge is presented and the boys and girls decide to race to the neighboring village where the annual Easter celebration and feast will be held. Along the way, the princesses must weather a scary storm and rescue another new friend. But in the end the lesson is clear … trust in the Lord and his love and you can overcome any obstacle. My Review: I have reviewed several of the Princes Parables series and this one is sure to bring delight to your family.  This princess story brings in 5 competitive knights and while the princesses almost miss an important Easter meal.   The princesses do learn an important lesson when de

Join Mama, Papa, Brother, sisters and Honey as they go to services, have an Easter treasure hunt, and learn what Easter is all about. My Review: March has arrived and this year we celebrate our Risen Savior a day after my birthday!   I love spring, I love Easter, I love Jesus!  This adorable Berenstain Bear book brings you to their Easter service at the Bear Chapel to celebrate Jesus!   There is some great traditions in the Bears church service from and organ playing, to seeing stained glass windows, to the hymns the Bears sing.   Depending on how your church services are run this book can create some great discussions about how churches do different things.   The story continues with a fun egg hunt and the Bears realizing more about spring and the true meaning of Easte

DIY Pond Care Basics for Summer, Spring and Winter

There are so many products available to use on a water garden or pond, making it difficult to decide what care methods are the most efficient. Is it better to add a lot of chemicals to the pond? Or is it more beneficial to use natural materials that do not damage the ecosystem? Here is a look at some steps you can take to maintain your pond in the spring, summer and winter months. Spring Pond Care: As the water starts to warm up in the spring, it is important to make sure everything is in the right condition for plant growth. Make sure any steps you took to protect the pond in winter are undone. For example, turn the pump on and start feeding your fish as the temperature warms up. Feed them cold-weather food until the temperature is consistently above 60 degrees. Winter likely added a lot of leaves and debris in your pond. To clean all this up, start by pumping water from your pond into a large container where the fish will temporarily stay. Gently remove all fish a

How to Choose the Right Puppy for Your Family

A four-legged friend is a real asset to any family, but when you have kids, the rewards of dog ownership are magnified tenfold. Dogs bring such a lot to any home, not least their unconditional love, but with so many breeds to choose from, it can be difficult to pick the right one. So if you are considering bringing home a puppy for your family, here are some wise words of advice. Bundles of Energy Most puppies are highly energetic creatures that play wildly for short bursts of time and then crash into a heap for a recuperative snooze. In the early days, they won’t be able to go for long walks, but as they mature, your puppy will need more exercise. For smaller breeds, this might not be an issue, since many small breeds don’t need a lot of walkies. Larger breeds, however, are a different story, as they will need at least two decent walks a day. If you have toddlers and younger children, it will be difficult to find the time to take a large, energetic dog out for a five mile walk

Full of delightful rhymes and charming illustrations, 7 Days of Awesome by Shawn Byous and Colin Jack portrays the seven days of creation with a fun, humorous style children will love. My Review: I have to post this review on Dr. Suess's birthday!   He sure paved the way for rhyming books and getting silly!   This book is sure to do the same thing that Dr. Suess books did to you... make you laugh!  So good job Shawn Byous on the awesome rhyming to retell Genesis 1, creation.    The pictures are delightful as well as the retelling of creation.   Make sure you add this one to your library so your little ones can beg you to read it over and over again which will be a win win as they will remember the events of creation!   We all love a book that gets a good belly laugh!  Go get your copy today from Zondervan.   Thank you Zondervan for sending me this book for free in exchange for an honest review.   I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100
