Guest Post- Dean Graziosi - Mom and Pops investors can compete with the big boys in Real Estate

Hi, my name is Dean Graziosi and I love Real Estate. I have a passion for investing and I make an effort to educated people about the process . I believe that everyone has a place in the world of Real Estate investing, they just need to be educated about the process. The education then gives them the information to know where they can get involved. There are a number of “mom and pop” investors who get discouraged because they don’t think they can compete with the big boys of Wall Street. For those Mom and Pop investors, here is some information that I think may be helpful. In August of 1981a 6-month CD generated an average of as much as 17.98 percent APY. Besides, it was insured by the FDIC and with high returns and no risk, it was a smart way to grow a portion of your savings. Unfortunately, it's not the place to grow your money anymore. CD rates have nosedived to below 1 percent since 2009. To earn over 1%, you'll need to deposit a minimum of $25,000 into a CD to earn a wh

Christmas Recap

Christmas came and went very quickly this year.  Here are a few photos to capture some of the fun!  I was more excited to give this gift to my little guy then him getting it.  Don't let me decieve you he was very excited to jump on the bike but it soon lost it's appeal when we realized he is still a little short to pedal the bike.  :( So glad I snatched one of Amazon's Lightning deals for this plasma car because no pedals are needed.   My daughter loves her new scooter that her papa bought her.  She also got a pair of roller blades from her aunt and uncle.  So this Christmas could be summarized with WHEELS!  :) We had a birthday party for Jesus at church and that was a blast and the cake was yummy!  Batman made an appearance and he seems to visit daily with high energy!  We also had to make cut out cookies because Christmas can't be complete without this tradition!   There are several other traditions our

Bonding over Gingerbread House Making

It must be a new tradition in our family- Daddy makes the gingerbread house with the kids.  Last year my daughter and husband spent several hours together in the kitchen creating there masterpiece.   Yummy Candy!   The pure site of all this candy on the plate was driving my kids crazy.  I know they snuck a few pieces here and there- self control is tough at age 2 and 6!   Here is the finished product!

DIY Star Ornaments

Have I mentioned that my two children have their own Christmas trees in their bedrooms?  I do this because we make so many adorable ornaments and my tree in the living room is themed with red, gold, and silver and I will admit I am a snob and do not want the kiddie ornaments on it.  Since we do create some wonderful ones I still like to have the fun moment of pulling them out each year and reminiscing over the memories of creating them so hence the need for both kids to have their own Christmas trees.   The last one we did for 2013 is a very simple Popsicle stick  and string star ornament.  I used super glue to glue the sticks in a star shaped... kids did not help with this process.  (We tried Elmer's glue and had no success)  After the glue was dry we had fun taking string and wrapping it every way.   Simple, easy, fun, and looks great on the kids trees!

Snowflake Ornament

I love the fact that my daughter gets to make something at school to give to us for Christmas!  This year her Kindergarten class made these very unique Snowflake Christmas Tree ornaments.  She was so excited to show us that she opened the gift bag before I got home from work.  LOL... so much for gift but I love her enthusiasm.  :)

Happy Birthday Jesus Pancakes- (Andes Mint pancakes, recipe included)

This is the 3rd time we have had Happy Birthday Jesus pancakes on Christmas morning.  It is a tradition that is here to stay.    My kids were very excited to sing and blow the candle out.  The pancake recipe is also very tasty.  You can find the recipe below.   I hope you all had a fantastic time celebrating the promises that came to earth when Jesus was born.  I hope you can rejoice in those promises each an every day.   Andes Mint Chocolate Chip Pancakes Ingredients 1 1/3 cup flour 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda  1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup buttermilk 1 large egg 2 tablespoons butter, melted  1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon pure mint extract Green Food Coloring (to your desired color) 3/4 cup Andes Baking Chips  (I added more!) I also melted some Andes Chips so that would be used in place of syrup.  YUM Directions In a medium bowl combine 1 1/3 cup flour, 1 table

Daddy Built a Slide off the Deck

It was a joy to arrive home from work one day this week and my husband had the kids outside playing in the snow.  He, being the great dad that he is, built a snow slide right off the deck.   Love those precious smiles and good memories they were able to create!   More snow fell last night/early morning and the kids are getting ready to go to the big hill soon!  :)  My kids also got an early Christmas gift of Sleds so we are excited to take them out!  :)

Devo: You've Been Served!

http://riversidefoursquare.org Pastor Anthony talks about John 12 and 13 NIV. What is the right attitude of someone in leadership. Should someone deserving of worship stoop down and model a servants heart? What should be our response to being served?

Grinch Party 2013

Last year we had a Grinch party as a family but this year we had a Grinch party at church.  Read about last years party here.   This year we had a lot of fun with the kids and teens, and yes even the adults.  There was some yummy Grinch popcorn, Crazy Who-ville hair, a big blow up Grinch, and some coloring pages and games.

Ozeri Green Earth Pan- Review

Thank you Ozeri for sending me this 8" Green Earth Pan for review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are mine.   Here are some need to know things about this frying pan: Unlike other ceramic pans the Ozeri Green Earth Pan utilizes GREBLON - an ultra-safe ceramic coating from Germany which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free. Innovative textured pan surface delivers enhanced heat distribution and superior non-stick performance without ever releasing harmful fumes or toxins. Merry Christmas 2013- Year in Review

Christmas 2013!!!  The year went extremely fast and things in our world changed a lot this year. We have decided not to send Christmas cards this year for a few reasons.  1. We did not get any professional pictures taken.  2. Lack of time and energy...sorry people but with a full time job it was not on the top of my priority list this year.  3. Save money and save some tree's.  So lets do a year in review!  Let's start in January.  It was our first and last winter in our new house in Wisconsin.  Shoveling was a lot more work than apartment living but we had some help on the big snow falls.  Anthony and I were blessed to do a get away to the Kalahari for free as a blog review.  We loved it!  February was a busy month with winter camp for Anthony. We also headed out to Iowa for the first time to visit a church that we knew God wanted us to visit.  I had a great Valentines Day date with Anthony and Anthony had a great Daddy daughter date with Selah.  In Marc

Christmas Tree Ornaments

I am trying so hard as a working mother to make sure I still make time for crafts with my kids.  It is something they enjoy...and I do too.   I have started to enjoy paint chip samples because they are free and so many wonderful ideas out there to use them.  I have seen several other sites use paint chips as Christmas trees but I do not remember which one I saw first so I am not sure who deserves the credit for it.   SORRY!   With our Christmas tree ornament we used buttons and ribbon.  There are several ways to add fun to your tree such as glitter, stickers, stamps, crayons, markers, and so much more.   I also wrote my kids name on the back and the year because I hope to pull it out every year and reminisce over them.  :)

Guest Post- Hair Care Solutions as You Age

Hair Care Solutions as You Age As we grow into older adults, our bodies go through significant changes. These changes  may be brought on by age itself, or from circumstances, such as pregnancy and delivery,  a traumatic accident, or excessive stress. The incidents of our lives take a toll on our  bodies, and sometimes they are out of our control. Hair is one of the elements that can  change with age or adversity, depending on circumstances and genetics. Here are  some ways to combat the toll the aging process takes on your hair, or manage it when it  happens. From over-the-counter, at-home products to more expensive procedures, there  may be things you can do to combat hair loss.  Products Many of the products people use throughout their youth weigh hair down because they  add heaviness to the roots. This can cause thinner hair to fall completely flat and be  difficult to manage. It may look extremely thin, limp, and lifeless. Consider
