Book Review: The Berenstain Bears "Mother's Day Blessings"

Book Description: Mama Bear is the best mama in all of Bear Country and Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear know just what to do for her on Mother’s Day. In this newest title in the Berenstain Bears Living Lights, The Berenstain Bears Mother’s Day Blessings, join the Bear family and all of Bear Country as they spend Mother’s Day together remembering just why our mothers are so special to all of us. My Review: Another cute story that will get your kids planning your Mother's Day surprise!   I like how Brother and Sister Bear got to see more working mothers in this story which gave them a better understanding since their mom is a homemaker.   They both kinda felt bad that so many moms had to work on Mother's Day!    Overall this is a great title to add to your bookshelf!   Mother's Day is fast approaching so don't forget about all those important mama's!   Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.   I was not p

Book Review: "Jesus Called He Wants His Church Back" What Christians and the American Church are Missing

Book Description As early as AD 50, Christians had gotten away from knowing who Jesus really is. Our generation is no different. In every decade we, as Americans, lost something important that we couldn't afford to lose: • In the 1950s, we lost innocence • In the 1960s, we lost respect for authority • In the 1970s, we lost love • In the 1980s, we lost values • In the 1990s, we lost faith • In the 2000s, we lost security • In the 2010s, we lost hope in the future What can restore what we've lost? Only Jesus. Jesus gave us His name, His friendship, and a commission to accept responsibility for ourselves and for the world. When introduced to His words and ways we'll rediscover the Jesus who: • Wants His enemies won over, not wiped out • Wants you to stop playing it safe • Believed great things were possible no matter what things are like right now • Was full of grace and truth • Unleashed compassion • Believed no one was too far from God to return to Him • Came to seek an

Book Review: "Little One, God Made You Special"

QUICK OVERVIEW: Little One, God Made You Special, written by Amy Warren Hilliker and inspired by the New York Times #1 bestseller The Purpose-Driven Life, is a cute and cuddly board book that let’s children know God made each one of us very special. My Review: Thank you Zondervan for sending me this book to review as part of the Blog Z Blog Squad Review team.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are my own.    As a mom and educator I value reading at every age group... yes even those new born babies!   So much happens in those little heads when they hear books being read to them.    I love board books that have animals and rhyme so this was is a winner.   As you turn each page  you seen a different animal baby with their mama.   The pictures and rhymes are sure to make you smile and your little one.    My biggest thing I enjoy is the message which speaks so much truth, God Made US Special!    God has made each of us with a purpose and we

Making Fitness Fun for Children

Making Fitness Fun for Children It should come as no surprise that children who exercise on a regular basis not only lead healthier lives overall, but are also more likely to make fitness a priority in their life as they get older. With only one in three children exercising every day and one in three adults getting 30 minutes of exercise or more each week ,  it's time to change the trend when it comes to fitness and our children. If you are having trouble getting your kids excited about fitness, try one of these fun activities to get them moving. Geocaching Kick off your weekend with some outdoor family time. Sneak in some family fitness with a geocaching adventure. Grab the kids, your smartphones and hit the trails to find hidden gems all over your city. For older kids, let them  take the lead with a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S7 , so they can track their location without having to worry about water or environmental damages from your adventure. "Wonders of Creation" Adult Coloring Book Review

Description: Slow down, relax, and contemplate God’s amazing world in this coloring book featuring detailed black-and-white illustrations of the animals, landscapes, and other wonders of creation. Appeals to all ages looking for a unique coloring experience. My Review: Can I just be really honest for a second!   I really want to love this, I really DO!   I love to doodle and I love to color but I have come to the conclusion that this book has pictures with such small areas to color that it is testing my patience a bit too far! There is so much detail to focus on and my husband will be the first to tell you that he is way better at attention to detail than me!  I think these coloring books are great for people who want to color and can relax and do it without frustration and a perfectionist attitude.  Unfortunately for me I am  not relaxed and lack the patience for majority of these pages!    I had to laugh because I showed this book to a friend and she quickly a

Adagio Tea Review

Thank-you Adagio tea's for sending me some quality tea to review.   I was not paid for this review so all opinions expressed are 100% mine.  Now I have to be honest shortly before my tea arrived I had a friend visit that brought her tea collection from England.   So comparing I will have to do!    In the famous poem 'The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock', T.S. Eliot wrote, 'Do I dare to eat a peach?' The literary-minded folks at Adagio have taken it upon themselves to provide Mr. Eliot with an answer: why not just steep a cup of our bright Ceylon black tea flavored with sweet peaches? Delightful peach-nectar fragrance, lingering floral aromas as you sip, pleasant astringency and 'peach fuzz' dryness. Simply peachy...    The first tea I tried was the candy apple flavor and the peach flavor.   Both of these are loose leaf teas that will not disappoint!   I love them both the flavors are full and fruity.   I am a huge fan of the fruity teas and thi

BasketBox Review

History Wow. BasketBox has changed over the years. Some of you may remember our CD/DVD gift boxes. Yep, when they were in style. Then came our creative nuts and fruit gift boxes. That was a blast. Book Review and Giveaway- "Baby Wren and the Great Gift"

The Baby Wren and the Great Gift, written by bestselling author Sally Lloyd-Jones and illustrated by Jen Corace, is a celebration of all the wonderful gifts God has given us. The tiny wren marvels at the incredible creatures around her, all the while wishing she had a special gift to share. As she takes in the beauty of the world around her, she discovers a unique talent that’s been inside her all along. My Review: This is a powerful story that is going to encourage all readers. We all have gifts and talents and sometimes it is hard to believe we have any.  As the story moves along we continue to see thanksgiving of other animals gifts as baby wren realizes she does have gifts.   This hard covered book is a quick read that many ages will enjoy.  I love the water color pictures that are warm yet bright.  By the end of the story we are celebrating Wren and her gifts.  It makes it an easy transition to discuss how everyone has different gifts and talents as we are a

Book Review: "God is Watching Over You"

As a follow up to their bestselling  Thank You, Lord, for Everything , P.J. Lyons and Tim Warnes have created a sweet and relaxing padded cover board book that tells the story of God’s constant presence around you. Meant to be read at night, when a child is warm and snug in their bed, the rhyming text and adorable illustrations in  God Is Watching Over You  gently remind us that God is constantly watching over us, protecting us, and caring for us. My Review: If you are looking for a new bedtime story full of rhyme and beautiful pictures then this is a must have.  I like how this story used sheep as the animal character because Bibicallly we can say we are God's sheep and he is our shepherd.   As the story starts it talks about the fun filled day, then the sun goes down and the stars come out, after that it is bath time which follows bed time stories and kisses.  I think all the areas of the story children could relate to and enjoy.    This is a great board book

You Need To See These Top Tips For Hosting A Successful Play Date!

Image Source When your child decides they want a friend over after school, you can often end up going into panic mode. It’s hard enough to sort everything out in the afternoon for your little one, let alone another kid or two! But a playdate can be a really fun and social event for your child. Therefore, here’s some top tips for hosting a successful play date! Make sure you get the parent's contact details If you have decided that it’s okay for your child to have the kid over, make sure you find out who the parent is at the school gates. You will need to discuss the idea of having them over, and who will be picking up and dropping the child off after. It’s vital you get a phone number for them, and address, even if they are picking the child up after. You never know what could happen, and therefore, you need their details for an emergency. Also, it would be good to discuss what activities you are planning to do with the kids, just in case they have any strict views. Als
