Oreo Pancakes- Happy Birthday Jesus Pancakes

Happy Birthday Jesus 2017 Christmas Every Christmas morning we make pancakes!  We add a candle to each of our plates and we sing, "Happy Birthday" to Jesus!   It is one way we keep Christ in Christmas.   I love trying new recipes as well and my kids feel spoiled that this was breakfast!   We have had a big variety of pancakes consisting of: banana, cinnamon roll, birthday cake, carrot cake, chocolate and peanut butter, and whole wheat banana.   This year this recipe came from Kirbie's.    It was fairly simple to make but I did ask my hubby to come and help me make the whipped topping while I was still making the pancakes.  That was simply to get done sooner as the kids are obviously super excited to be done with breakfast!   Oreo pancakes were a hit and they asked me to save the recipe!

Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas

One of the Christmas presents my kids unwrapped was play tickets to see "Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas."  It was an adorable play and I hope my kids remember it forever.  We even sang some Christmas songs at the end of the play but to top it all off they got some autographs of the cast.

My Review Thanks for coming to read my review.  Thanks, Booklook program for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.   One goal to set for my kids and I for 2018 is some scripture memorization.  I have never made it a priority and I would really like to memorize myself but show my kids the importance of it!   I know God will use it if I hide his word in my heart.  I think this book is going to help us greatly do just that.   I plan on utilizing this devotional book not only for the prayers and devotion but really as a g

Matching Family PJ's- new Tradition

Merry Christmas!!!  What traditions do you have for Christmas?   This year I ordered matching Jammie's to be opened on Christmas Eve to wear to bed.  We opened them up early so I had time to wash them.  I ordered these off a website called PatPat... I don't recommend them.  It took weeks to ship so I'm thankful I ordered them early November.  They are soft so that is good!

Teachers have fun!!

Do you ever look at those funny "awkward family" photos online?  Well, my school has a tradition of taking these funny pictures for each grade level.   It makes the last day before Christmas break more fun!   We all are wearing our festive sweaters and getting in the Christmas spirit.  This year made me really thankful for the my coworkers.  I couldn't do my job without them.

Flash back

Look at how adorable these two kids are!   They sure are growing up!  Makes me emotional a little bit just looking and knowing how fast time is going.

Every Child Needs a Craft Bucket: Here's What You Should Add

Image Credit: Pixabay Children are curious and creative and they love to get messy making things and playing. When they are very little, this sort of activity would be confined to paints and crayons with paper, but when they are a bit older, they can use more things to fully express themselves. Learning to play and create on their own is really beneficial for children, especially 5 year olds who are starting to find a little bit of independence and explore their own interests. Giving them a craft bucket or box, filled with things they can use to create and play is a perfect way to give them all they need to have a fun afternoon and really flex their imagination. Here’s what every young crafter will need: Pencils, Crayons and Felt Tips The absolute foundation of any craft bucket are the things that will allow your children to draw and design: pencils, crayons and felt tips. These are really cheap (there’s no point in getting expensive ones at this age) but they will give you chi

Interesting Ways to Teach Your Children about Holidays

One of the things you’ll often hear people complaining about on social media is that kids today just don’t seem to understand tradition and the meaning behind some of our most cherished holidays. Some of those holidays are national holidays and others have deeper roots in various faiths. For example, Christmas is obviously a Christian holiday while Passover is from the Jewish tradition. These are holidays that each respective religion holds to be among the most important and why we should teach our children what they mean to people of those faiths. The same holds true of other holidays we celebrate. Kids should know what it is we’re doing and why we hold these days special. Post Holidays to Discuss in a Visible Location The first thing you should do is take time to look at holidays month by month to find those which you feel the kids should learn about. Some days may be religious in origin, some may be national holidays, and others may just be fun days like Groundhog Day. Post

Oriental trading Christmas time

Merry Christmas Our church, Riverside Foursquare Church , opened their doors last weekend for the Christmas walk.   We had free cookie decorating, crafts, and a bake sale.   Thanks to Oriental Trading for helping us have the right supplies for 100's of kids to walk through and make a craft.  We made the "God Made you Unique " ornaments as well as the ornaments with sparkly stickers.  The kids loved making them and I liked that they were easy and mess free!   YAY for no mess because you all know that the cookie decorating was a big enough mess.   Not only did we have the church open but we had our nonprofit tea shop, Royal Tea opened.  Again we are so thankful for Oriental Trading.  We were able to decorate using the beautiful "Noel" and "Joy" light up signs .   Next, to the Christmas tree in the shop, it was very festive. I really love these sings!  I like how they look when the lights are low!  Oh, Christmas time you make my

Thanks, chewy.com for sending me this dog mug in exchange for an honest review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.  First, with it being December I expect slower shipping but this arrived the following day!!  I was super shocked but wanted to give a shout out of the fast response time this company does for it's orders and kudos to the shipping companies working so hard.  The first thing I did with my mug was brewing my favorite tea- www.royaltea.org I love the Pacific Coast Mint, White Tip Jasmine, Happy, and well really I haven't found one I don't enjoy.    The pictures of the dogs are all very cute as different patterns are used.  My kids immediately tried to pick one that resembled our dog the most.   The mug is not dishwasher safe but since I don't have one that is no big deal but I was disappointed to read it isn
