Sweet Daughter

My sweet daughter made me this Valentine at school.  I loved it! I love her little thumb prints and the lacing with the yarn added a nice touch too.   If your looking for an easy Valentines Day Craft put this in your file folder for next year!  :)

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!!!   I love all my blog friends and followers.  :)   Hope you have a blessed day!   Remember Jesus wants to be your Valentine today!! :)  Make sure you spend some time with him!! :)

DIY- Valentines Decorations

Happy Valentines Day!!! Are you the type of person who loves to decorate for every holiday?  Then this is a great idea that will save you money!  This is a simple Do It Yourself idea to create great Valentines Decorations.   All you need: Cardboard  Yarn Yep only 2 things!  Simply cut the patter you want out of the cardboard and then wrap it with yarn.  I like to wrap the yarn in all different directions to make it more textured.  You may like a more clean crisp look and then you will have to wrap very carefully.  Either way it does not take too much of you time and is very affordable and looks great in the window, staircase, or any other place you keep decorations.

Valentine I-Spy Bottles

I-Spy is a fun game for children of all ages.  Take the same concept from searching in a book to a bottle.   You can look around your house right now for things that you can put in a bottle to create this fun and entertaining game. The kids and I walked around the house and found: necklace glitter noodle beads of all sorts of sizes and shapes food coloring Candy Yarn There could have been many more items to place in our I-spy bottle such as rice, paper, paper clips, caps, and anything small enough to fit through the hole.  We wanted to keep our items in the Valentines theme.   One of our bottles has glitter and the other has food coloring.  Each bottle is fun and entertaining.   You can allow your child to shake them and play on their own or you can create a game of I-spy with the bottles.  :)  Hope you enjoy creating some Valentine I-Spy Bottles.

What would you do?? Persecution??

I lived in Sheboygan for only a couple short years but I have some faith roots there... do you know what I mean??  :)  We attended a great church that was in that town and I met many awesome people there.  One of the friends I met there has 2 sons and the story I am about to tell you will make you applaud this mommy! This mom made the extra effort to teach her children to always share their faith so for this Valentines she and the 2 boys made valentines for their peers and they included John 3:16 on the Valentine!  GREAT right?  :)  As parents we need to instill a boldness in sharing our faith and what an easy way to do it.  They picked a verse about LOVE which is fitting for Valentines day.  Easy right?? Well, this is where the story gets ugly.  The students brought there Valentines to class but the teacher catches the verse on it and makes the student throw the Valentines in the garbage.  :(  HOW SAD!!!  Now we know we l...

Valentines Day

I was with her little brother and she got her little table out and set it so we could have lunch...cereal lunch.  :)  Came home from work and found these flowers and a clean house!  :)  Happy WIFEY!  :)  My daughter was also happy to get a little bouquet of  flowers from her daddy.  :)

Goodie Bag Valentine

I mentioned that my daughter was helping me decorate some paper bags so I could put some gifts in them for my wonderful hubby.  Well, here is a little idea of some things going in the bags.   Yay Pintrest for helping me find this idea from Darling Doodles .  You can click the link and get a PDF file for all the pop labels.  :)  Each Soda has a cute little label to go along with the brand of soda.  I also hand wrote some notes to go along with the printed ones.  :)  I am also going to stuff some of his favorite snacks in each of the bags.  :)   There are many times where my husband will work through lunch or just in general forget to eat.  It is beyond me how anyone can forget to eat lunch but it is my goal to make sure he has food and drink this week.  :)

Happy Valentines Day

I got this idea from Pintrest but I changed it up a bit to fit AWANA!  :)  The sticks are glow sticks that are taped to the Valentine message.  I really wanted to remind the students that Christ should be shining through you for all to see!  :)    I had a hard time choosing a verse because there are so many light references in the bible.  I used Mathew 5:14 "You are the light of the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."  Then it says, "Let Jesus shine through you" and "Happy Valentines Day.  Love, Selah."

God's Valentine Gift

God’s Valentine Gift God’s Valentine gift of love to us Was not a bunch of flowers; It wasn’t candy, or a book To while away the hours. His gift was to become a  man , So He could freely give His sacrificial love for us, So you and I could  live . He gave us sweet salvation, and Instruction, good and true-- To love our friends and enemies And love our Savior, too. So as we give our Valentines, Let’s thank our Lord and King; The reason we have love to give Is that He gave everything. By Joanna Fuchs

"Mom, can we make cupcakes?"

I think every day for a month my daughter was asking if we could make pink and purple cupcakes.   Since I have been watching what I eat I have tried to prolong it.  Well, I decided to go ahead and make them so she could bring a fun snack to AWANA.  At the dollar store we had found these very cute cupcake liners and hearts to put on top of each cupcake.  After we had mixed the batter up we separated it into two different bowls and put in some pink and purple food coloring.     Here they were out of the oven.  They look yummy before putting frosting on them.   Frosted and decorated!  :)  What the inside of the cupcake looks like... would be cool to have a heart for Valentines day but I am a newbie at this.  :)  So have you made any yummy treats lately??

Twice as Sweet

Twice As Sweet On Valentines Day, we show our love; We express our deep affections. Those who are important to us Get cards and sweet confections. But Christian love is not just for The ones we hold most dear; Jesus said "love everyone;" He made that very clear. For Christians, it is every day We should care and love and serve Everyone we meet in life, Whether they do or don’t deserve. Let’s follow Jesus’ good command To love everyone we meet. Valentine’s Day every day Will make life twice as sweet. By Joanna Fuchs

Valentine Snow Globes

One of my daughters favorite Chrismas presents this year was a snow globe.  She could sit for an hour and shake it and stare at it.  It was adorable and even her younger brother loved looking at it with her.  So for Valentines Day we created some "shaker's" as my daughter would call them.   Supplies needed: Baby Food Jars Glitter Water Styrofoam ball  Heart shape (I found these hearts at the dollar store but the black one is just a pipe cleaner that I formed into a heart.  Use what you have.  :)  Hot Glue Gun Paint for the lid of the baby food jar How we did it: I cut the Styrofoam ball in half.  Then I hot glued it to the cap of the baby food jar.  While I was doing that my daughter painted the top of the lids pink.  Then we placed the heart in the middle of the Styrofoam.  Then my daughter picked glitter out and shook some in the jar and then she helped me put water in.  Screw the lid on tight and have f...

Valentine Love Bugs

I am not sure who is more cute my daughter or the love bugs.  :)   These love bugs were very simple.  Just cut up the egg carton and paint. Use pipe cleaners for antennae,  glue eyes on a puffy ball and put it all together and you have adorable bugs.  My daughter even had fun playing with her creations.  :) She got to play with her's but these would make a great Valentines Day gift for any grandparent.  :)  "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." (1 John 4:12)

Father Daughter Dance! ADORABLE!

I am so excited for my daughter and husband tonight.  They are currently out enjoying a father/daughter dance.  My daughter is wearing a new dress, asked for her nails to be painted, and has been talking non stop about her date with her daddy all week.  I bet they are dancing to the YMCA and many other fun songs.  :)   I think it is so important for Fathers to do activities like this with their kids especially daughters.  I know we want to teach her how a man should treat her and even though she is only 3 years old I think she will still learn something at her age.  I know she is a princess in her fathers eyes, not just her daddy here but her heavenly father too.  Isn't it so awesome how much GOD loves us!!!    So here are a couple pictures: Nails had to be painted:   All ready and now waiting for daddy.  Ready to go! She was too excited to sit still for a good picture.   HOW CUTE!!  So what ...
