Secret Keeper Girl

Selah and I had a great time at the Secret Keeper Girl event in our city! The traveling ministry is all about teaching girls who they are in Christ but also how to be cute and still hold high standards of modesty.   It really does do a good job of teaching our younger girls to be more cautious with how they dress when the world tells us to do whatever.   Selah and I did have a great dinner together too... she picked Noodles and Company.

Mommy Daughter Ornament Exchange

If you are looking for a new tradition to do with your child and their friends then this is a keeper.   This was our 3rd year for the ornament exchange.   Each child and mom both buy a Christmas ornament and we have a fun little party with food and games and draw names for the ornaments.   It is pure fun to be around all the kids and their moms!   It is one of the best ways to get to know more of the moms from my daughters grade.   Each year the parents take turns hosting and planning so it isn't one persons responsibility!

Happy 9th Birthday Selah

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SELAH!!  We had a fun "Minute to Win it Celebration!"  Selah had a lot of friends show up and have an amazing time celebrating with her!    We also did an DQ ice cream cake which was her first one she has ever eaten... she is a fan!   I remember having ice cream cakes a lot growing up.  The birthday girl also requested dinner at Hu Hot!   I was so excited she picked that place... YUM!  9... its like childhood needs to freeze at this age.   You still love playing make believe with your American girl dolls.   You love to play school, ride your bike, and play any sort of game!   You are an includer in everything you do!   I love your heart and passion in everything you do.   I am so excited to see you grow.   This last year you ran several races and continued to leave us speechless!   WE love you so much girl!

Softball Star in the Making!

My gal is doing coaches pitch softball this year and enjoying it!   I know we have many skills to work on but she is improving each and every day!   I am so proud of her!

Mommy and Daughter

How can I not share this adorable picture of my daughter and I?  I absolutely love you darling!  I love that you still love wearing dresses every day, I love that you are starting to learn to read, I love how you play with your brother, I love your boldness when you pray for others, I JUST LOVE who GOD has created you to be!   Much hugs and kisses- you are a royal princess!  :) xoxoxoxox

Swinging Girl

I remember being a 5 year old and running into a swing just like the picture of my daughter.  What a sweet childhood memory of my own and one I hope my daughter will remember.   To my Sweetest Daughter, I think with each day that passes my love for you continues to grow.  God has shown me his love for me by the love I have for you.  :)  You are a great little girl and a smart one too.   As a mommy I try my best to protect you from the world.  I pray that one day you might read this and think "my mom did a great job of teaching me about DADDY GOD and his love."  I pray for you daily and I am excited to continue to watch you grow and be your mommy.   xoxoxo

Matching Mother Daughter Bracelets

Thank-you Quiet Mischief and Company for sending me these matching mother/daughter bracelets to review.  All opinions are 100% mine and I was not paid for this review.   My  daughter will smile with happiness for anything pink.  Pink mixed with purple in a wearable form and she was thrilled.  Then on top of all that fun knowing mom has the matching one and she was ecstatic!  I loved sharing the moment with my daughter when I said I had something special for her and for me.  It has been 4 days since I gave the bracelet to her and neither her nor I have taken it off.   The neat thing about Quiet Mischief is they will custom make any order with any color.  :)  They also take the time to ask your wrist length so our bracelets fit perfect!  No fear of them falling off or cutting the blood supply off.   So Mother's Day is fast approaching so get your orders in today!  Order your Mother/Daughter Bracele...

Daddy Daughter Date!

The first thing I have to say is THANK YOU JESUS for a wonderful husband who is also an amazing daddy!   Yesterday my hubby took my 5 year old daughter on a date.  They went out to eat, played at the mall, danced and ate at Cherry Berry for Dessert, and he bought her a special ring.  I am most certain that the ring is going to stay on that little finger for a long time!   The big reason my hubby and I value this one on one time is very simple, we want our daughter to realize how she should be treated when she gets to the dating age.  A boy is going to have to work really hard because my daughters Daddy is truly a gentlemen and is creating life long bonds with her that no young boy will be able to come between.  We truly believe that girls/daughters who are brought up with a trusting and good relationship with their fathers will pick and choose boys who will respect them the way their daddy's do.   As we raise our daughter up...

Mommy and Daughter Journal

My mom passed away when I was 18 years old.  To this day when I look through some of her notes in her Bible I get a mix of emotions.  I love seeing her hand writing, I love hearing her heart and her prayers, but sometimes it makes for a roller coaster of emotions.  I will admit it has been a long time since I have looked through those notes but after I saw an idea to create a journal to go back and forth between my daughter and myself I jumped on the idea and started right away.   My daughter may only be 5 and can't write but she can draw and make sounds and before I know it she will be sounding words out.   The idea for me is to be a constant reminder that I love her, that JESUS loves her, to share my heart and prayers with her so she can go back and reread when ever she has a bad day.   If I had something like this even after 10 years of my mom's passing it would be amazing!!  :)   I also think that creating a journal at s...

A Mothers's Heart

I know one prayer I have often for my children is for their future spouse.  I know the person that my son or daughter will marry is a women or man that will be in love with Jesus.  Today on facebook I saw a post that some of you might have seen on my page.  It said, "A women's heart should be so hidden in God, that a man has to seek Him to find her."  Go check out the picture HERE !   It really got me thinking about my prayers for my children and how I can make sure my daughter but also my son are keeping their relationship with God a top priority all throughout their life.  Since my husband and I are youth pastors we see many times the teen age relationships that fall apart but also see the students relationship with Jesus suffer as well.  It is a burden on my heart for my children to make sure I teach, nurture, and model a relationship with Jesus as a number 1 priority! How do you teach your children to put Jesus at the top of the Priority ...

Daughter's

How many of  you think about this or pray for your daughters and son's.  I encourage you to pray for your kids daily and to pray with them!  :)
