BREAST is BEST

I saw this button on a new blog I started following today: Three Girls and a Guy I loved this button!  I am currently breastfeeding and I LOVE IT!  Don't be mistaken I still had a tough time at first since it was painful.  I had several blocked ducts and engorging but I made it through and things are going great.  I just have to praise God for his wonderful ways of creating us.  I mean a baby gets all the nutrition he or she needs from mama.  HOW FANTASTIC!  God you are AWESOMELY AMAZING!  I love getting to bond with my little man, joyful I don't have to pay for formula, and love that it has helped me lose baby weight!  :)  WHOO HOO!!  I definitely recommend breast feeding! I am not trying to dis on any mom who has chosen formula.  I know there are many reasons a women has to do formula.     CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT MY HAIR CLIP GIVEAWAY!!  MANY WAYS TO ENTER! :)

I called the lactation counselor today...

So on Sunday and Monday I was complaining about a blocked duct.  I worked it out so I thought but the last two days my milk supply on that side has been so low and baby was having a hard time latching on.  It was so frustrating. Did anyone have lower milk production after a block? The lactation counselor said it is normal after having a blocked duct.   She said to keep having baby nurse and to keep pumping. I also was gifted some all natural tea that helps promote good milk supply!  :)  It kinda tastes like black licorice.

Is this a blocked duct... breastfeeding??

Ok, so I know I have complained about my aches and pains and I am trying not to be a downer but thankful for my family. So yesterday I was having hot and cold flashes and even a headache with some aches and pains.  My left breast was hurting and felt hard in spots.  Even the though of nursing baby boy was painful.  I pumped to get the milk moving but did not have much come out.  I took a bath and that helped a lot just having the hot water and soaking.  I also think the IB profen helped a lot too.  So by evening I was feeling much better and did let lil guy nurse.  Then the night I woke up and it was hurting again.  Not as bad as during the day.  I let lil guy nurse from it trying to get some relief but it just seemed like he would not be satisfied as if he was not getting anything.  I finally warmed up some pumped milk and he was finally full. I woke up and pumped and I barely got an ounce out of it. ???  I have been producing ...

breastfeeding...

I am very glad I am breastfeeding but my breasts hurt so bad!!!  :* (   I feel like I keep making way to much milk.  I have had to pump a little just so my little man can latch on correctly.  I have been engorged a lot and I bet if I got them measured I would be at least a D if not DD!!  Which is huge for me. I have been using the gel soothies which gives a bit relief and I use the lanolin cream also to help prevent cracking.   I think my body is trying to figure out how much milk it needs to produce right now but ouchie... i need the pain to leave soon! Any advice momma's?

Who's breasts are these... and some other breast feeding questions.

If there is one thing I forgot about after giving birth to my daughter is the pain and the feeling of milk coming in to breast feed.  Today my milk came in and I have so much I had to pump before feeding baby because otherwise my breasts were too big for him to latch onto.  So I have fed Titus 10 times already today but I also have pumped 5ounces!  WOW... talk about a lot of milk!!!   It is painful but thankfully I am already on pain killers from surgery. I also had a friend buy me soothies (gel pads) and I have had some relief from them.  I did get a couple tiny cracks on the nipples from poor latch ons, but I have been using the Medela tender lanolin care cream and also using my own breast milk to help heal them. Have any of you mom's ever had your nipples bleed?  What did you do to eliminate pain from breast feeding? My nurse tonight told me to use tea bags for relief to.  So I think tomorrow when I get home I will try this new remedy!  :...

Breastfeeding do's and don'ts

Well I started 33 weeks in my pregnancy and last night I had some of the worst braxton hicks.  My hubby and I were trying to relax and watch a movie together and off and on for an hour I was having them.  I was starting to get nervous that they were the real thing, but then I had relief and they stopped. With baby here soon I think it is time to review breastfeeding.  I breastfed my daughter but it seems like it was a long time ago already I am open ears to your experiences and what worked for you and what did not work. I had some issues with my milk supply after about 4 months and I do no want that to happen.  I think it was my own fault because I pumped a lot and then I also used a nipple shield and maybe that confused my body??  I think I was much more shy and when we were out and about I would warm up a bottle rather then breastfeeding but I will be doing that much different this time around.  I have a nice nursing cover and I plan on using it! ...
