Another Birth Story... with a FIRE ALARM!

It is time to read a birth story from I am not Superwoman!  This is a great story but make sure to visit her site too click here.

As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun...Well lets just say the time is about 9 or so months ago...and there I lay, in all my glory, on a steel table with tons of lights shining on me...Ready to meet the newest addition to our family...And lo and behold....the fire alarm goes off....Time Flies

Not once...

Not twice...

But three times within about a 10 minute time period as I was getting prepped for my Cesarean section in the Operating Room.

As I laid there, I contemplated what I could do, which after much thought and consideration was pretty much nothing since I was NUMB from the belly down...Hello!  In all of my grogginess, I looked over at the staff nurse and said, "Should we be concerned?"   She assured me that it was a drill and that everything was ok but of course with it happening 3 times within a 10 minute period, I wasn't so sure.  But as I stated above I was numb, groggy and pretty much naked so I was definitely in no shape to get up and walk out of there or run for that matter...

Fast forward 9 months and 1 week later....Our beautiful little girl Miss K, is growing up.  It has definitely been fun these last several months to see her blossom.  She is starting to eat "big" girl food; she has 6 teeth!  And baby grub, mushed up stuff, just not cutting it for her any longer.  She sees what we are eating at the dinner table and often times makes her voice heard that "She'll have what we are having!"

She has been crawling since Thanksgiving and pretty much started standing and walking around things shortly thereafter.  She holds onto the coffee table and goes back and forth between it and the couch.  She pulls herself up and walks around anything she can get her hands on.  For Christmas, grandma bought her a baby stroller and my husband put it together this weekend...And off she went.  Pushing it as fast as her little feet can toddle.  It does go a little fast but she rolls with it (literally).  I wish there was an adjustment on the wheels to make them harder to roll like on skates but she doesn't seem to mind even after falling several times.

She no longer wants to be held and cuddled as often..When I am loving on her, she can only take so much before she starts wiggling and squirming to get down.  There is a big world (within a 1600 sq ft house) out there that she would rather explore...And explore she does, often times right behind her 3 yr old brother.  I was in the living room today and it got quiet.  Mind you our house is "pretty much" child proof but someone left the child lock off the refrigerator and where did I find those two quiet kids?  You guessed it both with their heads peeking into the refrigerator.  That is a catastrophe waiting to happen!  Beanpole was reaching for the ketchup.  Not sure what he was going to do with it and I would rather not know.

Swing.  To big for it now.  Now she would rather just push it back and forth.

Exersaucer. She can climb out of it.

Bouncer. She hasn't used that for months.

I guess it is time to pass these on but it makes me sad. She is it.  She is our last child.

I will never hold another newborn of my own.

I will never feel that first tooth pop out of the slimy gums of my own child.

I will never have to get up in the middle of the night, singing lullabies while breastfeeding a child from my own womb again.

I know there are so many more milestones to come but when it is your "last" child, to me anyways, everything seems so different.

She is growing up so quickly, right before my eyes.

How did that happen?

Knot Genie Review and Giveaway

If you have a little girl and have not heard of the Knot Genie then you need to watch the following video:   "The Knot Genie™ and Teeny Genie™ Detangling Brushes were created for every mom that has endured the foot stomping and screaming matches that come with brushing their child's hair. With the Knot Genie, even the curliest, most knotted up hair practically slips through the unique bristle configuration – gently and painlessly. Try the Knot Genie on your kids (or on yourself) – you'll be amazed by the ease of brushing, as well as how it virtually stops breakage and split ends. You've wished for hair brushing standoffs to end. Wish granted." My Review:  Thanks to the Knot Genie for sending me the product to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.  I know I have grown so tired of my daughter coming to tears every morning when we did her hair. I was becoming to think she was the most

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
