Ahhh, our Labour Day weekend isn't until October, so I'm a little envious of everyone posting about their long weekend.

Orbeez beads and glow sticks= SENSORY FUN!

My daughter got one of those Orbeez bead sets for Christmas.  I was so amazed at how those beads grew in the water.  It was so much fun!  :)  My daughter made her necklaces with the beads but we had a lot more m beads so we have been using them for some fun sensory play.   We put the beads in a dish and we got some glow sticks and put them in the container with the beads.  The beads looked really awesome.  :) My daughter loved it.  She played in the dark with the beads and glow sticks for a long time.  :)

Beating the Heat with Ice Cube Painting

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a mom!  I love that my daughter is at a age where she wants to do arts n crafts and is a little sponge learning and trying new things.  
With the heat of the week I wanted another activity that would help keep us cool.  Ice cube painting was a great idea for 90 degree days with lots of humidity.   
Not only was this fun but very easy to make.  All I did was put water in my ice cube tray and then added food coloring and then put in the freezer.  SUPER FUN AND EXTREMELY EASY!

This is an old dish towel that I did not use anymore.  
You could set the ice cube in one spot and let it melt for a little bit and then move it.  It created a very neat tye-dye look.  :)  I LOVED IT!  Selah had so much fun moving the ice cubes around.  :) 
Her name kinda disappeared but this looks so cool!  I love love love it!  :) 
We want to do this again!  :)

Liquid Chalk spray! Chalk Idea #7

Last week we tried out the fizzing sidewalk chalk- click here to read that review.

This week it is liquid chalk spray.  They are a bit similar but yet different.  Here is how to make it:


Supplies:1 tsp. washable tempura paint1 cup of hot water1/2 cup of cornstarchsquirt of dishwashing liquid1 squirt bottle- I found them at the dollar store1.  Add cornstarch to one cup of hot water whisking to mix so that there are no clumps. 2.  Add one teaspoon of washable tempura paint and a quirt of dishwashing liquid.  Mix well. 3.  Pour it into your squirt bottles and shake well. 4.  Go have fun!!!  
This kept my daughters attention much longer the the fizzy chalk last week.  I also think this was easier to work with and just more fun in general.  I love seeing the chalk wet but then to see it dry.  I think it dried darker so it was fun to see the changes.  :)  Ready, Set, Go!  Have some fun!
