30 days to Hands on Play Challenge: Day 1

I will be doing the 30 days to hands on play challenge.  :)  I will be honest and admit I know I might miss a few days so my 30 days might be more like 40.  I am going to be out of town for a few days so its a good excuse.  :)

What is 30 Days to Hands on Play?

A 30 day challenge to inspire you to play [at least] 15 minutes with your kids [no interuptions].
To become more involved with them.
To introduce yourself and your kids to new play ideas!

How will the challenge work?
The Imagination Tree and I will alternate [on our blogs] with a play activity challenge each day for the month of November. These play activities are meant to be simple, and to use what you have on hand.

We will each be doing each day's activities together with you, and there will be further discussion that can be found on The Play Network to share what you did for that day's challenge. Through these discussions we hope to inspire each other more through everyone's ways they played that day.

What can I hope to accomplish during the Challenge?
Learn to play with your kids!
Ideas to get you out of the regular old routine.
The rest is for you to decide.
That's your first task.
Starting today.

Today's Task:
Take mental note, or jot down, a simple mission statement of how you'd like to become more hands on with your kids.

Praising Mom's Mission Statement:
This month I will be more efficient with my time.   I will get my chores done while the kids are napping so when they wake up I can do more hands on activities that are age appropriate for them.
Selah's interests:
  • Princess's
  • Art's n crafts
  • Cooking
  • Puzzles
  • Games n books

Titus's interests:
  • Learning to crawl
  • mouths a lot of items still, most everything goes in his mouth at least once.

My Memory Suite Review and GIVEAWAY!

MY MEMORIES SUITE Review and giveaway!  (#1 rated scrapbook software)  The above is one of the scrap pages I have created.  Super easy and super fast.  I only took a couple minutes to create a 8 page photo book.  I am still going to do some more with adding more embellishments!  The below is one I created all from scratch and it only took me about 5 minutes!  :)  SO EASY!   Here is a great video explaining more about the product.  There are also tutorials available on youtube.com I am not sure if you are like me but I have spent hours online trying to upload photos to the web to place them into something I was trying to create.  THE BIGGEST BONUS to My Memory Suite is the fact that it is downloaded to your computer so you do not have to wait forever for a picture to upload! It made my experience much quicker then other programs I have used online.  The scrapbook software was very easy to download on my computer and did not take long to learn how to create.  :) One feature t

Liquid Chalk spray! Chalk Idea #7

Last week we tried out the fizzing sidewalk chalk- click here to read that review. This week it is liquid chalk spray.  They are a bit similar but yet different.  Here is how to make it: Supplies: 1 tsp. washable tempura paint 1 cup of hot water 1/2 cup of cornstarch squirt of dishwashing liquid 1 squirt bottle- I found them at the dollar store 1.  Add cornstarch to one cup of hot water whisking to mix so that there are no clumps. 2.  Add one teaspoon of washable tempura paint and a quirt of dishwashing liquid.  Mix well. 3.  Pour it into your squirt bottles and shake well. 4.  Go have fun!!!   This kept my daughters attention much longer the the fizzy chalk last week.  I also think this was easier to work with and just more fun in general.  I love seeing the chalk wet but then to see it dry.  I think it dried darker so it was fun to see the changes.  :)  Ready, Set, Go!  Have some fun! She is my little model... she kept saying "take my picture mom." She is like her
