Our little harvest...
We have a harvest! :) WOOT WOOT! I was happy a few weeks ago when I saw some growth but then I never saw the veggies growing and I was getting worried that nothing was going to grow.
No worries we had some delicious peas that made it and there are 3 baby cucumbers growing! I am so thrilled that we have some veggies! I do not see tomatoes yet but the plant is getting taller and it looks healthy. I believe the carrots are unsuccessful since I see nothing growing. Note to self that those are too hard to grow! :) We are still waiting to see if we will grow a pumpkin or just the really long vines.
It was truly enjoyable to sit on the deck munching on the yummy peas with my family! Fun!
Next year I will plant earlier and find what grows best here. I am thinking spinach, peas, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes. Any advice for this garden newbie?
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains
I think I learned to be patient and trust in HIM...even with my little garden! :) Now I need to pray for some wisdom in gardening!

St. Patrick's day is March 17th so its approaching quickly. I have a few ideas on art and food projects that i want to do with the kiddos. Hopefully I will have enough time to complete them and share them with you. This was a super easy one for those little hands. I cut the stripes of colored paper but if you are working with a preschooler or school aged child then they can practice cutting. The two toddler boys here only had to glue the pieces on their piece of paper. EASY, but they enjoyed it! :) It sure has brightened my kitchen with them hanging on the fridge! :) I also talked more about the Promise God gave us with the rainbow since I know that history a whole lot better then the history of the Irish Holiday!
Since you all loved the other cookie giveaway I did last week I thought a St. Patrick's Cookie Giveaway would be another great one for those of you who have a sugar tooth. :) This giveaway is sponsored by Gourmet Cookie Bouquets !
