Dog Pheremones

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Comfort Zone® products for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When does the puppy behavior end??  If you have not met our puppy Kiah then make sure you check out my "Meet Kiah" post.  She is much bigger now and almost 8 months.  Kiah is a mixed breed including: chow, spaniel, terrier, and boxer and with all those breeds she has many tendencies from each breed.  She loves people, loves animals, loves to chew, and loves food!!!  The biggest challenge I have with Kiah is keeping her calm when people come to the door.  As soon as someone comes in she is ready to kill them with kisses and she is constantly jumping on people, so we have been working on the "down" command. With her excitment often comes the occasional peeing accident.   Like all puppies, Kiah, is a big chewer.  She has a selection of toys to chew and thankfully she has not ruined any personal items.

So what is Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.®??  This is a very easy to use plug-in diffuser that releases dog pheremones.  Pheremones are natural chemicals that help dogs communicate with other animals or other dogs.  When a dog senses the pheromone it helps feel secure which decreases barking, chewing, and house soiling.

I started using Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® abouty 40 days ago.  The packaging does state that it could take 30-90 days to see any changes in your pet.  I placed the product in the living room where we spend most of our time.  Since Kiah is a puppy I knew there were still going to be the normal puppy behaviors so it is a challenge to know how well this product is working at this time.  The noticable changes would include less barking and in the evening she is a great cuddler where many times before she would be at the door in an instant if she heard even the slightest noise outside.  She also has been doing much better with potty training.  There have been less accidents since using this product but she still has troubles when new people come since she gets very excited she ususally has a small accident.   I am hoping to see a change when people come over but at this time no changes.  She is still very hyper and excited to see people but I truly believe she is just a very social dog and really loves attention from all people. She is one of those dogs that will kill you with love!

Go buy your Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® at many pet stores including Pet Smart and Petco and online.  This will be a great product to use as the holiday season approaches.  Help your pet adjust to you being gone, or traveling with your pet during this holiday season.  Also keep up with Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® through thier Facebook fan page.

"The Reading Game" Review and Giveaway

Description: The first book in  The Reading Game  learn-to-read series tells the story of a skunk without a stripe who is rejected by the other skunks but finds acceptance among some cats and becomes their defender.  It’s told in rhyme, is beautifully illustrated, and is 32 pages long.  It will be the first book the student reads, and there are five more to follow in this groundbreaking learn to read program. Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds. After completing Skunk, Game 1, the student has learned five words (can, cat, is, me, not).  Playing Game 2 adds an additional five w...

Book Review: "God I feel Scared"

Kids have big feelings, but none of their feelings are too big for God. In this picture book from licensed counselor Michelle Nietert and Tama Fortner, young readers will explore what it means to feel scared and discover how to manage their emotions in a healthy way. Scared is a feeling that can be hard to face, but if we listen to it, we can learn things about ourselves. In  God, I Feel Scared , children will discover that it’s okay to be scared and that God is with us in all things, including fear. With simple, accessible text, scared becomes an emotion that kids don’t need to avoid and instead something they can use to better understand themselves and grow closer to God. The bright, emotive art by Nomar Perez will draw kids in, and a note in the back provides tips and techniques parents and caregivers can use to help young children process their feelings in a beneficial way. God, I Feel Scared  teaches kids ages 4 to 8 how to: Identify the feeling of fear and recognize thin...
