The Legend of the Candy Cane is a story that should be read every Christmas. The story pulled on my heart and the illustrations brought a smile to my face thanks to illustrator Richard Cowdrey. Thanks to ZonderKids for sending me this book to review. All opinions are 100% mine and I was not paid for this review.

The Book Description:
One dark November night a stranger rides into a small prairie town. Who is he? Why has he come? The townspeople wish he were a doctor, a dressmaker, or a trader. But the children have the greatest wish of all, a deep, quiet, secret wish. Then a young girl named Lucy befriends the newcomer. When he reveals his identity and shares with her the legend of the candy cane, she discovers fulfillment of her wishes and the answer to her town's dreams. Now will she share what she has learned? My review:

The story captures the candy cane in a new way, not just candy, but something with significant value. The candy cane is such a neat way to help us remember the true meaning of Christmas. I know when I look at a candy cane I will look at the red and white, I will see the J for Jesus, and I will turn it around and see a shepherds staff.

In the story it the girl and the shopkeeper go door to door sharing the love of Christ! It is a book that encourages us Christians to get out their and be BOLD!

This story is a must read for any family at Christmas time.
