Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes... in You and Your Kids BOOK REVIEW

Disclaimer:
I received a copy of this book to conduct a review, all opinions are 100% mine and I was not compensated for this review.

Book Description:
Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller offer a thorough program for establishing honor as a basis of family life — not just children honoring parents, but parents respecting children and children honoring each other. Even if honor seems a long way off in your household, you will find practical suggestions here to bring that goal a little closer — suggestions for kids of all ages. Honor is the biblical value that will bring about good behavior. It’s more than just changing what kids do; it’s changing the deeper issues of the heart that triggered the behavior.

My Review:
You know your reading a good book when you can't sit down with the book without your highlighter.  I think I may have highlighted something on each page!!  Trust me each page had something for every parent and for every age of parenting.

Almost two years ago I read another story about honor titled, "Culture of Honor"  by Danny Silk.  That book was great as it introduced me to honor and living it out.  "Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes...  In You and Your Kids"  helped me go a step further by helping me understand to take the honor aspect and put it in my home.

I love how each chapter ends with some questions to help each parent dig deeper in self reflection.  While answering these questions it creates such a valuable learning curve to help parents realize where changes can be made and should be made.

The first step that I know I will continue to work on is showing honor in the house so I can fully teach what honor is to my children.  This book also shows 6 easy ways to teach honor as well as many other helpful parenting skills.

I also loved this book because it uses scriptures through each chapter.  Honor truly has been lost so it is time for us to bring it back and see a generational turn in parenting!

This book is definitely a book worth reading several times!

Purchase your copy today!  When you purchase the book through the end of the month you will receive the Honor Multi-Media package, which includes video, mp3, study guide, and children's teaching lesson on honor.   We now have 3 video training products for parents and the video in the package is a lesson from the first series we produced at a  live Parenting Seminar in Orlando, FL.

I love your review of this book. I'm so glad that you were able to talk about the content in the book and about how you are living out the principles in your home. The concept of honor has been revolutionary in my life. It has helped me as a father, husband, leader, supervisor, coach, and in other areas. Our sons are both adults now but they are both living out a life of honor. We returned home from vacation in December to find our whole house cleaned and a Christmas tree in place in the corner of the living room. Now that is honor! Honor changes people. It can change any family! Thanks again for posting!

Each of The Reading Game's six stories is told using just thirty new words.  These are broken down into six sets of five words.  The student learns to read each set of five words by playing a simple word matching game.  Frequent exposure through play hard wires these words into long-term memory.  Rote learning is transformed into a fast-paced game with a winner every few seconds.
