Oriental Trading will get you ready for Halloween or Harvest Parties!

The fact is Halloween is 23 days away and if you are like me and doing another community event less days to that event!   I have my idea for a costume, we have ordered more Oriental trading items because candy is not needed at every place and is too expensive!

Here in my town we have fun with the Witches Walk/Trunk or Treat with our families.   I have the privilege of helping with the planning and organization of the event.  This year thanks to Oriental Trading we have these two new games, Jack O' Lantern Disk Game, and the Monster Bean Bag Toss to add to all the fun on the levee.

With the new games we needed some cool prizes to go along with them.  I picked out yo-yo's, notebooks, kazoos, and ball puzzles.    These monster yo-yo's are adorable to look at and seemed to work well.

I am always looking for more doodle notebooks and these are just the right size.  Kids will enjoy the goofy eyes on these fun notebooks.

I kept the monster theme and found these crazy looking ball puzzles that will keep your child occupied for awhile.   Why not say not to handing candy out this year and find some great alternatives from Oriental Trading.

My son wants to master the Kazoo!   He thought it was broken at first because he is not familiar with how they work.  I hope parents don't get mad when their child won't stop playing their new musical instrument.  :)

My kids were super excited to get there hands on the game and are looking forward to our community event to play these games again.  The Jack O' Lantern Disk Game is a big hit.   It did however fall over a few times.  I will be finding a way to anchor it in better with the wooden dowel.

The bean bag toss was adorable but I wish they were a thicker plastic or tin like a normal tin can.   They seemed just fine when my kids played but I am nervous that they might crack or break with some stronger and bigger kids throwing the bean bags.

Liquid Chalk spray! Chalk Idea #7

Last week we tried out the fizzing sidewalk chalk- click here to read that review. This week it is liquid chalk spray.  They are a bit similar but yet different.  Here is how to make it: Supplies: 1 tsp. washable tempura paint 1 cup of hot water 1/2 cup of cornstarch squirt of dishwashing liquid 1 squirt bottle- I found them at the dollar store 1.  Add cornstarch to one cup of hot water whisking to mix so that there are no clumps. 2.  Add one teaspoon of washable tempura paint and a quirt of dishwashing liquid.  Mix well. 3.  Pour it into your squirt bottles and shake well. 4.  Go have fun!!!   This kept my daughters attention much longer the the fizzy chalk last week.  I also think this was easier to work with and just more fun in general.  I love seeing the chalk wet but then to see it dry.  I think it dried darker so it was fun to see the changes.  :)  Ready, Set, Go!  Have some fun! She is my little model... she kept saying "take my picture mom." She is like her

Toddler Rainbow Craft for St. Patricks Day

St. Patrick's day is March 17th so its approaching quickly.  I have a few ideas on art and food projects that i want to do with the kiddos.  Hopefully I will have enough time to complete them and share them with you.   This was a super easy one for those little hands.  I cut the stripes of colored paper but if you are working with a preschooler or school aged child then they can practice cutting.  The two toddler boys here only had to glue the pieces on their piece of paper.  EASY, but they enjoyed it!  :)  It sure has brightened my kitchen with them hanging on the fridge!  :)   I also talked more about the Promise God gave us with the rainbow since I know that history a whole lot better then the history of the Irish Holiday!
