My Review:

Visuals in a Bible when you are a kid make a huge impact and difference at attention!  One of my lucky girls I took to kids camp this year is now the owner of this Bible.   I knew I needed to bring a kids Bible with me to kids camp and sure enough, on our first day one little girl opened up her King James version and couldn't read or understand any of it.   I have nothing against that translation but I am right in the same predicament has her with not able to understand and comprehend what is going on in that translation.   This one is a great NIV translation! The little girl I gave it to was glowing and smiling with excitement and gratitude!  While we waited for different things at camp we would open this bible up and find a new image and read about it and discuss it!   It was one of my favorite things we did at camp! We enjoyed the pictures within the Bible but when it was time to find some verses we found that this Bible made it more challenging to find verses.   You know how in most Bibles the book and chapter are in the corner of the page so you can easily flip through it and find the right book?  Well, it's not that way in this book.  The book and chapter are located more in the center of the page which makes it a challenge to quickly find your scriptures. It is still a very nice Bible and the girl I gave it too didn't complain at all... but then again I was the adult leader always helping the kids find the right verses in their Bibles so for me it was more frustrating.  It's not a deal breaker by any means and it might help others to rely on their memory or help them to want to memorize where scripture is located even more!

Justus has a Veggie tales Bible. I would love to add this for him. He's not an avid reader, but I think the pictures would help him be more engaged!

Liquid Chalk spray! Chalk Idea #7

Last week we tried out the fizzing sidewalk chalk- click here to read that review. This week it is liquid chalk spray.  They are a bit similar but yet different.  Here is how to make it: Supplies: 1 tsp. washable tempura paint 1 cup of hot water 1/2 cup of cornstarch squirt of dishwashing liquid 1 squirt bottle- I found them at the dollar store 1.  Add cornstarch to one cup of hot water whisking to mix so that there are no clumps. 2.  Add one teaspoon of washable tempura paint and a quirt of dishwashing liquid.  Mix well. 3.  Pour it into your squirt bottles and shake well. 4.  Go have fun!!!   This kept my daughters attention much longer the the fizzy chalk last week.  I also think this was easier to work with and just more fun in general.  I love seeing the chalk wet but then to see it dry.  I think it dried darker so it was fun to see the changes.  :)  Ready, Set, Go!  Have some fun! She is my little model... she kept saying "take my picture mom." She is like her

Toddler Rainbow Craft for St. Patricks Day

St. Patrick's day is March 17th so its approaching quickly.  I have a few ideas on art and food projects that i want to do with the kiddos.  Hopefully I will have enough time to complete them and share them with you.   This was a super easy one for those little hands.  I cut the stripes of colored paper but if you are working with a preschooler or school aged child then they can practice cutting.  The two toddler boys here only had to glue the pieces on their piece of paper.  EASY, but they enjoyed it!  :)  It sure has brightened my kitchen with them hanging on the fridge!  :)   I also talked more about the Promise God gave us with the rainbow since I know that history a whole lot better then the history of the Irish Holiday!
