How to Achieve the Perfect Smile

Do you often refuse to show your teeth when someone snaps your photograph? Do you ever look in the mirror and wish your teeth were straighter or whiter? Don’t allow your teeth to dent your confidence. All you need to do is follow our top tips for achieving the perfect smile.
Brush Your Teeth Twice Daily
Everyone must brush their teeth a minimum of twice daily to achieve a clean, healthy smile. Aim to brush your teeth for between two to three minutes and only use a fluoride toothpaste. However, we recommend gentle brushing, especially around the gum line. Many people make the mistake of rigorously brushing their teeth, which will only damage their gums and cause future dental complications.
Don’t Forget to Floss
Flossing should also become part of your daily oral hygiene routine. If you are not doing so already, floss your teeth twice a day, just before brushing. It will remove any plaque build-up in between your teeth to create a whiter smile. Do you have braces? Consult an orthodontist to discuss using threaders to flow between the wires.
Limit the Use of Whitening Toothpastes
Whitening toothpastes can help you to create a brighter smile, but they are also a little abrasive. Unfortunately, overusing the toothpaste can be harmful to your teeth enamel. If you do want to use a whitening toothpaste, aim to use it every other day or until your teeth appear whiter.
Regular Dental Appointments
It is advisable to visit a professional and experienced dental practice every six-month period to maintain and improve your oral health. This will allow you to spot any potential problems that could impact your smile. Book an appointment with a qualified, experienced dentist, such as Dr. Michelle Sandler, who can provide dental treatments tailored to your needs. You can then leave a practice with a healthy smile that will boost your confidence.
A Home Whitening Treatment
If flossing and brushing is not helping you to create a brighter smile, you should consider a whitening treatment. For instance, adding a little baking soda to your toothpaste can help you develop the perfect smile. Like whitening toothpastes, try not to overuse whitening treatments or they can cause more harm than good to your teeth than good. Also, avoid creating a home treatment from strawberries, vinegar or acidic foods that may damage your tooth enamel.
A Dental Procedure
Many people may have a white, bright smile, but are unhappy with their crooked teeth or gaps. If you are unhappy with your smile, you should discuss your options with a dentist, who can recommend the best procedure for your needs. For instance, they may suggest a retainer, dental veneer, bridge, implants or dentures, which can each transform your smile for the better.
Don’t allow your teeth to damage your self-confidence. With regular flossing, brushing, and dental appointments, you can achieve a healthier smile in no time. You can also try a whitening remedy or discuss the right dental procedure with a dentist to achieve your dream smile.

Packing for your first ski trip

Pexels - CCO Licence So, you're gearing up for your first ski trip and the excitement is as thick as the snow you're about to conquer. But before you can show off those freshly learned pizza and French fry stops, you’ve got to pack.  Packing for a ski trip can feel like preparing for a chilly expedition to the North Pole, but fear not! With these nifty tips, you'll be ready to hit the slopes in style and comfort. 1. Layer Like a Lasagna Think of your ski outfit as a gourmet lasagna: each layer is crucial. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer (yes, that includes thermal underwear) to keep you dry and snug. Over that, layer a warm and breathable mid-layer—think fleece or a wool sweater that can handle the chill. Top it all off with a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants. Remember, it's all about layers that you can add or peel off because sweating while you ski is less fun than a snowball in the face. 2. Keep Those Fingers Cosy Cold hands can ruin a...
