Why Diamond Jewelry Will Never Go Out of Fashion

First reserved exclusively for royalty and the uber rich, diamonds were only worn by those deemed as being worthy. Not only did you need to have a lot of disposable cash laying around to afford diamonds, you also had to have some inside connections. Today, wearing diamond jewelry is as much of a fashion statement as it is a declaration of status. The rich and famous still adorn themselves in diamonds and other precious gemstones, but everyday people are also able to get in on the action. You don’t have to be a millionaire in order to shop at www.ascotdiamonds.com , but you could easily drop a cool million on the exciting collection of jewelry this company has on offer. Diamond Jewelry and Status There are many reasons why diamond jewelry is never going to go out of fashion, and it starts with the prestige that wearing diamond jewelry brings. Real diamonds shine, glitter and reflect light in a way that is all but impossible not to notice. Even if you don’t actively look at the jew...

4 Things You Never Realized Were Disgusting Until Now

Humans are pretty disgusting, if you think about it. In and on your body right now, you have slightly more bacterial cells than human cells ― the ratio is actually about 1.3:1 ― which means about half of who you are is germs. To be fair, you need most of those germs to survive; microbes in your intestines are vital for breaking down food into nutrients your body can use, but still ― gross. It turns out that humans also tend to develop habits that are incredibly disgusting, only adding to our gross-factor. In fact, you probably do at least one of the following, which increases your risk for disease and seriously grosses other people out. Whether you notice it or not, you have to stop ― and once you do, you’ll never go back. Biting Your Fingernails Nail-biting is somewhat of a controversial behavior. Though 45 percent of teens bite their nails, only 5 percent of older adults do it, prompting the American Psychiatric Association to label it as a form of pathological grooming oft...

Halloween 2016

Happy Halloween... Hallows Eve! We were a bit behind with the pumpkin carving but my almost parent fail turned into a blessing.  It was Halloween night and I needed to still purchase some pumpkins to carve.  The town I work in was all sold out so when I got home we went to another town and pulled up and the sign read, "pumpkins are now FREE!!"'   WHAT!!   We got 4 free pumpkins!   How awesome was that!   When I almost thought we weren't going to find any to carve we got free ones!   YAY!

Le Claire's Witches Walk

Sadly this is the only picture I got on this busy fun filled day!   Last year was my first year helping organize the event and then this year I had to find a team to help me plan it.   It was a lot of work but thankfully there were people that helped me!   I was not expecting the 450+ kids we saw this year!   Some of the costumes were absolutely amazing!!!   I know some parents must have spent a lot of time and money creating some one of a kind costumes!    I had fun making my bag of jelly beans costume...however I had no idea the temperature was going to be close to 80 at the end of October!   So I ended up sweating profusely and having to take off my costume to breath a bit!  I learned a lot and I hope to enjoy it again next year!

Fire Safety!

The annual Fire Station Open house happened and we had a great time.  We enjoyed the fire truck rides, going through the smoke house, seeing the ambulance, cop car, rescue boats, and a few others!    A couple of years ago I wouldn't have been able to get a picture of the kids with anyone in a costume... look how happy they looked there!  The fear is gone... AMEN!  Top Tips for Fire Safety Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas. Test smoke alarms every month. ... Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year. If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL FOR HELP.
