So our little girls already struggle with body issues/self esteem... but now Botox at age 8???

I was reading some of the blogs I follow and came across the blog "Hip Chicks guide to PMS, Pregnancy, and Babies."

She just posted the "Good Morning America" interview of a mom who gave her 8 year old Botox shots for a pageant.  WHAT!?!   We have girls starving and throwing up after each meal, we have girls tanning at young ages, waxing before they are even menstruating, dying their hair, and now we have 8 year olds getting Botox when it is very clear they are not wrinkles but dimples!  LORD HELP US PARENTS TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS FOR OUR CHILDREN!

Mom Gives 8-Year-Old Daughter Botox: How Young Is Too Young? - ABC News

I thought about entering Selah in a pageant but after watching the shows on TV and seeing that it was no longer a natural beauty and fun thing I would never do it.

THE BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT MUST BE TAUGHT IS THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR US!! WE HAVE RAVISHED HIS HEART!  HE SEE'S HOW TRULY BEAUTIFUL WE ARE!  Parents do not let society tell them differently!

Song of Solomon 4:9 You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace

King James Version: Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, [my] spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.

With one glance we have captivated God's heart!  Quit the crap of fake things society is telling you to do!  UGGG!!

Here is some of the article:

Have you heard about the San Francisco mother who admitted on Good Morning America that she regularly injects Botox into her 8-year-old daughter’s face? The purpose – she wants to enter her daughter into child beauty pageants.
Kerry Campbell, the mother, told Good Morning America:
“We were getting into the [child] pageants… I knew she [Britney, her 8-year-old daughter] was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that.”
Um, I’m sorry but 8 year-old girls DO NOT have wrinkles. If you watch the interview (below), you’ll see that Britney has dimples. Her face is young and beautiful.

Kerry, who is a part-time aesthetician and has performed Botox to her own face, decided to inject Botox into her daughter’s face. The San Francisco-based mother typically gives Britney five shots of the anti-wrinkle solution, in three locations of the young girl’s face.
“It hurts sometimes. It makes me nervous, but I get used to it,” the 8 year-old told Good Morning America.
In her interview, Kerry refused to disclose where she got the Botox, saying that she has a “trusted source” who is a “behind the scenes doctor.”
This story has drawn tons of critics, but this beauty pageant determined mother says that she’s not the only one doing this. She claims that many other beauty pageant mothers are giving their children Botox too.
“I don’t do enough on her to make a difference. Just on the lines,” Kerry said. “I’m a great mother. I’ve taken care of her by myself my whole life, and nobody can really tell me what I’m doing is wrong … She’s a happy kid and that’s the bottom line.”

San Francisco Child Protective Services are Investigating

Kerry Campbell might not think she’s doing anything wrong, but San Francisco authorities are investigating the situation. The Food and Drug Administration doesn’t recommend Botox injections for anyone under age 18.
(Botox is made from a toxin made by the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. It’s the same toxin that causes the food poisoning, botulism. Botox injections temporary remove facial wrinkles by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves.)
Child protective services at the San Francisco Human Services Agency was flooded with calls after the Good Morning America report. The police have now also joined their investigation.
So what are your thoughts?

Yeah, I saw this! It's absolutely crazy! Unbelievably crazy! Wasn't there someone in England doing it too?

I read about this on another blog! I do think this is absolutely ridiculous and yes that mother should definitely be under investigation. I have never been one to judge other mothers, but there are just some things that cross the line and this one definitely leaps over the line. I agree aren't our children, especially our girls, struggling with enough pressure to be perfect? I think that little girl is going to grow up into an adult with a terrible self-esteem and body image. She is going to need a ton of counseling, and obviously her mother needs some counseling too since she is living her life through her daughter. So pathetic.
Its not only sick but it breaks my heart for the little girl!
This made me soooo angry!!! It really just takes away this little girls chances at being a little girl. This mother should be ashamed at what she is teaching her daughter about true beauty. Great post, thank you!

I can't believe that this woman would give her 8 year old botox. Completely outrageous in my opinion. It's so sad :(

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
