Halloween Candy Buy Back!

So I got a letter from one of the local dentists in town and I want to share the neat program they have.  They have a buy back on kids Halloween candy.  When a child 12 or under comes in on  November 1st they will pay your child $1 for every 1 pound of candy and they will get a new firefly flashing toothbrush!

So what will the Dentist do with all of the candy they buy??  The candy will be shipped overseas with the help of a local post office to our courageous troops while serving our country.

Not only do they send the candy to our troops but they are also teaming up with a local food pantry and will match $1 per pound received!  AWESOME!

"Global sugar consumption for kids increases by about 2 % annually and currently sits at 50 million tons per year.  This means parents need to be more diligent right now more than ever before.  Too much candy can lead to weight gain, as well as cavities and other health problems.  In some cases, the wrong type of candy can also lead to broken teeth and damaged braces."

That is a great idea! My daughter always gets so much candy and really doesn't eat that much of it. My husband and I usually eat most of it or he takes it to work. I certainly don;t need to be doing that. lol Wish we had a local dentist that was doing that.

Happy Saturday!

My Memory Suite Review and GIVEAWAY!

MY MEMORIES SUITE Review and giveaway!  (#1 rated scrapbook software)  The above is one of the scrap pages I have created.  Super easy and super fast.  I only took a couple minutes to create a 8 page photo book.  I am still going to do some more with adding more embellishments!  The below is one I created all from scratch and it only took me about 5 minutes!  :)  SO EASY!   Here is a great video explaining more about the product.  There are also tutorials available on youtube.com I am not sure if you are like me but I have spent hours online trying to upload photos to the web to place them into something I was trying to create.  THE BIGGEST BONUS to My Memory Suite is the fact that it is downloaded to your computer so you do not have to wait forever for a picture to upload! It made my experience much quicker then other programs I have used online.  The scrapbook software was very easy to download on my computer and did not take long to learn how to create.  :) One feature t

Liquid Chalk spray! Chalk Idea #7

Last week we tried out the fizzing sidewalk chalk- click here to read that review. This week it is liquid chalk spray.  They are a bit similar but yet different.  Here is how to make it: Supplies: 1 tsp. washable tempura paint 1 cup of hot water 1/2 cup of cornstarch squirt of dishwashing liquid 1 squirt bottle- I found them at the dollar store 1.  Add cornstarch to one cup of hot water whisking to mix so that there are no clumps. 2.  Add one teaspoon of washable tempura paint and a quirt of dishwashing liquid.  Mix well. 3.  Pour it into your squirt bottles and shake well. 4.  Go have fun!!!   This kept my daughters attention much longer the the fizzy chalk last week.  I also think this was easier to work with and just more fun in general.  I love seeing the chalk wet but then to see it dry.  I think it dried darker so it was fun to see the changes.  :)  Ready, Set, Go!  Have some fun!
