2012 Goal- More Family Fun Nights

One thing I treasure is spending time with my family but I love to have the good quality fun time!  :)

Here are a few ideas to try if you are like me and want more family fun nights:

Make a Family Mailbox
Kids love getting mail and as long as the mail isn't bills, parents love mail too. Add some zip to your family communications by creating a
family mailbox. Great for leaving messages of encouragement, love, and support for fellow family members.

Ice Cream or Dessert Night
Head out even before you eat dinner and go get ice cream or any other dessert first.  It is a surprise and out of the usual and makes for a fun evening.

Family Vacation Jar
family vacation jar (or box) is a decorated jar used to save for the next big adventure. Decorated with pictures and words of places you want to visit or have visited, the jar becomes a daily visual reminder of your dreams.

Family Game Night
Games are a great way to bring the family together as well as teach children how to be good winners and losers.  Why not try to set aside one night a week or month as family game night.

Craft Night
Depending on the season or if holiday's are near go online and get some ideas for a fun project to do.  So many ideas out there that are free or very affordable.

Create a Family Cookbook
Create a family cookbook by asking family members to send you copies of their favorite recipes.  After the family cookbooks have been completed, you can give them as gifts on birthday's, Mother's Day, or at Christmas or Hanukkah.

Water Night
Water park, bathtub, sprinkler, kiddie pool, water balloons, squirt guns- or any other way to get wet!  HAVE FUN!!

Volunteer Together as a Family
Why not spend your family time helping others in need?  Working together as a family to help others in need can be an incredibly powerful way of building family bonds and developing a great sense of pride and fulfillment in all family members.

Surprise Lunch
Why not surprise your child for lunch one day at school?  If your school allows it, join the child for lunch in the cafeteria or better yet pack a quick picnic lunch to share at a nearby park.  Don't tell them ahead of time you are coming.  This makes the lunch all the more special. My kids are not in school so we would change this and go surprise daddy!

Baking Night
Search through recipes and let your child pick a recipe and put the aprons on and make it.  If you need items from the store make a list and have fun with them while they search for what you need.

Park Day
Find a new park to venture too and pack some snacks and go have fun exploring.

Movie Marathon Day
I love to do one of these when the weather is freezing!

Go to church together
This is one of those things that I pray you do weekly.  For my hubby and I we often have to drive seperately since one of us is usually serving and need to be there early but I love when we drive together and leave together.  I love making a pit stop where for a fun treat too!  :)

I know there are a ton of ideas out there.  What are your ideas or what  have you tried in the past?

These are all great tips. We like playing games together as a family before bedtime, from board games to a game of hide n seek, we have a lot of fun.

Stopping by from the Faithful Cafe blog hop. I am a new follower on GFC and added you to my circles.

We do most of these. :)
I'd add in a family walk night. It's awesome to walk through the neighborhood and observe the sounds, chat, laugh, race... whatever. Our family walks together -- or in some combinations of togetherness -- at least twice a week.

I'd also add frisbee!!!! It's a great family activity and wears out the dog too :)

Knot Genie Review and Giveaway

If you have a little girl and have not heard of the Knot Genie then you need to watch the following video:   "The Knot Genie™ and Teeny Genie™ Detangling Brushes were created for every mom that has endured the foot stomping and screaming matches that come with brushing their child's hair. With the Knot Genie, even the curliest, most knotted up hair practically slips through the unique bristle configuration – gently and painlessly. Try the Knot Genie on your kids (or on yourself) – you'll be amazed by the ease of brushing, as well as how it virtually stops breakage and split ends. You've wished for hair brushing standoffs to end. Wish granted." My Review:  Thanks to the Knot Genie for sending me the product to conduct my review.  I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.  I know I have grown so tired of my daughter coming to tears every morning when we did her hair. I was becoming to think she was the most

Dry Idea: Deodorant Review and Giveaway

I know most of you know I was at kids camp last week and I think I mentioned the humidity and heat that we had that week!  I was daring as I only brought my new Dry Idea  deodorant  that I had never used prior.  I had no idea if it was going to keep me from smelling like B.O or if I was going to have sweaty pits. So how did the Dry Idea hold up to the hot and humid days at kids camp???  Arms raised high during worship in the morning and in the evening!  :)  I was dry and I did not stink!  :) WOOT WOOT!  I had the unscented brand and I usually do prefer a pretty scent but it worked and they do have scents which include powder fresh and cotton dry that I might try in the future.  :) The Dry Idea Roll-On is 24 hour protection, fast drying MicroCotton Formula, hypo allergenic, and contains Vitamin E.  :) Don't like roll on's??  They do offer Clear Gel and an Invisible Solid.  :) Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry roll-On so I could review them.  However,
