Good Bye

Last night I got to go out to eat with my co-workers from the YMCA.  Last Friday was my last day of work since we are moving next week.  It's always bitter sweet to say good-bye to all the familiar faces.  It can sometimes be hard to walk through the open doors as change can be scary but with each emotion I truly am starting to get very excited for the changes.   I am so thankful for the love that was showered on me last night.  I love the hand print and footprint card that was given to me.  :) I am going to miss all those little faces!!  We have one more going away party on Saturday night... this might be the most difficult one since it is at our church.  I will bring the tissues... Pray for us!

RazWar Review

Raz*War, a revolutionary shaving brand The Raz*War’s idea was born in the mind of Pierre De Nayer who was feeling like he was being robbed every time he bought razor blades at the supermarket.  He believes everyone who shaves should be able to do so at an  affordable price  with the  high level of quality  the skin deserves. My Review:  Well the warm weather has set in and that means one thing, shaving those hairy winter legs. There are so many razors on the market that it can get overwhelming as the consumer.   RazWar is super convient- its a razor subscription so your razors will come strait to your front door.  No more standing in the isle wondering what razor cartridge you need to buy.  RazWar has several different package's to choose from.   I got this neat trio of razors and they worked well.  My husband got one too and I have not heard any complaints from him.  I like the convenient carrying case for each razor.  With kids around its nice to have  a l

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day!  Did any of you go to a Memorial Day service or parade?  Thank a service man or woman?  I hope today was not just a day off of work and a day to grill out.  I hope you were able to reflect and feel thankful for the men and women who sacrificed all they had! There are a lot of men in my family who has served in the military.   My dad's great great great great great grandpa fought in the civil war and his last name is my dad's first name. Pretty neat to think about!  My grandma's brother was killed in WW1- Wiley Davis.   My dad's uncle, Art, fought in the battle of the Bulge.  My dad was in Vietnam and my cousin his nephew was in the gulf war.   My grandpa on my mom's side was in World War 2 but because he was a German/American he was not trusted and could only be a cook.  Here is my dad's coat from when he was serving and all the areas he went.  It's holiday's like this that makes me want to do more research on my

Saying Goodbye is Hard

I sure have enjoyed this year being able to watch a boy my sons age.  It is so hard to say good bye when you can see a strong bond and true friendship in these two boys.   I feel the same way for my daughter.  I am thankful she is excited for the move but she has some great girl friends at the young age of 5.   I think it might be me who is having a harder time with this then my children. I am thankful they are young and I know they will make some new friends quickly.  It might be such a challenge for me because I grew up in the exact same house my entire life unlike my husband who moved around all the time.  Only two more weeks of Wisconsin and then its Iowa time.  Please continue to pray for our transition as you can tell it is sad and hard but exciting and thrilling all at the same time.

Culture of Honor

It was a fun weekend as I headed back to Iowa to our soon to be new home, new church, new ministries.    My husband has been traveling back and forth each week.  This weekend we had our pastor go and they taught on honor together and it was awesome. The message above is worth listening too and I know your time is precious. Please take some time to listen to it and learn a little bit more about honor and how you can apply it to home, work, and well EVERYWHERE.

Swinging Girl

I remember being a 5 year old and running into a swing just like the picture of my daughter.  What a sweet childhood memory of my own and one I hope my daughter will remember.   To my Sweetest Daughter, I think with each day that passes my love for you continues to grow.  God has shown me his love for me by the love I have for you.  :)  You are a great little girl and a smart one too.   As a mommy I try my best to protect you from the world.  I pray that one day you might read this and think "my mom did a great job of teaching me about DADDY GOD and his love."  I pray for you daily and I am excited to continue to watch you grow and be your mommy.   xoxoxo

Strawberry Nibblers

I open the fridge and grab the strawberries and realized my two children were in my berries.  They had taken a nibble out of every single strawberry!  What little stinkers I have.  These were some really yummy strawberries and only .99 cents at Aldi's.  :)

Blowing Bubbles

It was 8:00 am and we were outside blowing bubbles on this sunny spring day.  My kids will not tolerate being in doors when the sun is shining and I am cool with that!  We need to get as much sun as we can!   I love you kiddos so much!  xoxoxoxo

SnapSac Review and Giveaway

Check out the new "Paint the Town" collection from SnapSac .   These reusable totes are great for every purpose. One lucky winner is going to win this collection which includes a mega Tote, Super Tote, and Grocery Tote.  What a great value and awesome prize for one lucky winner.   I was provided with the Grocery Tote to conduct my review.  I was no paid for this review and all opinions are 100% mine.   I love the orange pattern on this bag.  I have been using my tote for about 3 weeks.  I thought with the bright color it was spring enough for me to use as my purse.  I like having a big bag to carry with me since I have been doing a lot of traveling lately.  Also, my purse is dual purposed as a diaper bag so I have to stuff a lot in.   The bag is deep and the extra snap is great to help keep it closed and safe.  The bags are also machine washable which is a big bonus as a mom of two messy children.   I know this bag will also get re-purposed as a gr

Heather Von St. James- A Mesothelioma Cancer Survivor Story

I shared a blog awhile back about Heather and her story fighting and surviving her battle with Mesothelioma Cancer .  Watch the above video and be encouraged.  CANCER needs to be cured!  Please help by making a donation to my Light the Night Walk . I am so thrilled that Heather has beaten the odds and still around for her precious daughter.  I still miss my mother and hope that a cure will be found soon.

Happy Mother's Day to ME

It was a HAPPY Mother's Day to me!  Now that my daughter is in 4K it was an extra special treat when she came home from school with a gift for me made by her.   She also had to go pick some "Flowers" outside and put them in some water so it was a display.  I have always been a fan of the little poems and hand print crafts.   I also love the creativity of my daughters teacher with this sweet card that made me smile and laugh.  "Mom, I'll love you even when... I'm all grown up!!"  Seeing my daughter in a wedding dress sure is adorable and funny.  WHAT A GREAT GIFT IDEA!  So mom's what did you get from your kids?  What homemade cards and crafts did they bring home?

Find the truth- Dont believe the lies

Have you been believing a lie from the enemy?  If so then you need to get your bible out and start reading and quoting the truth's about who you are.   Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid, nor be scared of them: for Yahweh your God, he it is who does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.” Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.  (one of my favorites)  Numbers 6:25    Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. Luke 12:32    Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

Prayer- Power and Honor

In prayer we honor God in relationship, and then in power we honor His revealed vision and shared dreams. Today we take a look at Hannah in 1 Samuel 1 If you listened to the message above then you just heard my husbands message on Mother's Day at our new church in Iowa.   “I remember my mother’s prayers, they have always followed me. they have  clung to me all my life.” ~ Abraham Lincoln Prayer is awesome and I am thankful for each prayer my other prayed when she was alive. I have been blessed to find some prayers for me that she wrote in her bible.  :)  I think she knew I would marry a preacher!!!  :)    AMEN- God wants to honor you!  :) In prayer we honor God in relationship, and then in power we Honor  His revealed vision and shared dreams. Three things happen when we approach God. 1. We are ruined. But you can't stay there 2. We are cleansed and qualified. But you can't be afraid to mess up 3. We hear and respond. But with all w

Toddler Flower Craft

I prepped the flowers and leaves but my 2 year old had fun gluing it all together.  This is  a very simple craft for toddlers and it sure brightened up the room since our spring flowers are taking forever with our cold spring.

Book Review: Follow the Bouncing Ball

" Follow the Bouncing Ball"   by D.M Eason is a cute book for early learners.  The book jumps and counts all at the same time and includes some rhyming fun.  The illustrations are bright and the kids seem to enjoy counting along with the book.   This book is a great addition to any teacher's library and would be a fun one to include in a math lesson plan.  Thanks Peak City Publishing for sending me a book to review.  All opinions expressed are my own and I was not paid for this review.

No Complaints

There have been many times in life when I complain and I will assume you have too.  Kids are the pro's of complaining.  Have you ever gotten angry or whiny when God has different plans for your life then what you had?   Jeremiah 29:11 11  For I know the plans   I have for you,” declares the   Lord , “plans to prosper   you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.   Proverbs 16:9 n their hearts humans plan their course, b ut the LORD establishes their steps.

Learning to Ride Her New Bike

My daughter got this bike as a Christmas gift and now the weather is nice its time to teach her how to ride a bike with out training wheels.  We put the helmet on today and attempted to ride a bike.  We did not go too long before I realized it was going to take some time and my daughter might not be ready yet.   So I did a little research and found this helpful information from REI .  Any of you have any tips for teaching a child to ride a bike without training wheels?  Learning to ride a bike is a classic rite of passage and a skill that, once acquired, is never forgotten. Teach a child to ride and you fling open the doors to a lifetime of fresh-air fun and 2-wheeled adventure. The method outlined here for teaching a child to ride a bike is the one used by REI Outdoor School  instructors. It's not the only approach, and every rider proceeds at her own pace, but we've seen kids use it to learn to ride a bike in a single afternoon. But there's no rush.
