Praying Life Back Into the Nerves

I’ve shared a lot about my healing journey lately, but today I want to pause and talk about my husband’s. He’s been walking his own path of recovery, and honestly, it’s been both inspiring and hard to watch.  We laugh often that we are doing hard things together as we are one!

Just two days before my Achilles surgery, Anthony had surgery on his bicep tendon. That alone would’ve been enough to make our summer interesting, but his recovery has come with an extra challenge—nerve damage. Healing has been slower than we hoped, and there are still a lot of “waiting” days.

He’s no longer wearing that big plastic brace (praise the Lord for that small victory! 🙌). I think that change has brought both freedom and comfort—because let’s be real, plastic and sweat do not mix well. We scrubbed that brace so many times, but somehow the finger area always stayed stinky and gross.  It’s the kind of thing you just have to laugh about or you’ll cry.

Anthony has had several physical therapy appointments, but they’re currently on hold as we continue to wait for the nerves to wake up. At his last appointment, they used the electrical stimulation unit to try to activate the muscles in his hand… and nothing. Well, technically, his fist clenched shut—showing that a big part of his nerves still haven’t reconnected. That was a hard moment, but even in that, we’ve chosen faith over fear.

We are diligently praying and believing for full restoration. Every day, we speak life over his hand. We thank God in advance for healing that is already on its way. And we celebrate every small victory—like the fact that he’s been released to start jogging again. They may look like baby steps, but to us, they’re miracle steps.

And even while he’s healing physically, he continues to lead spiritually with boldness and faith. Under his leadership, our church family is stepping into a beautiful season of unity—we officially become one with another church tomorrow!  Watching him listen to the Lord’s voice, obey without hesitation, and walk in love and humility has deeply inspired me. His heart for unity and the Kingdom moves me to tears sometimes. While his body is still healing, his spirit is strong and steady—showing what true faith and obedience look like in motion. I couldn’t be prouder of him and how he leads with both courage and compassion.

Healing isn’t always fast. Sometimes it’s slow and quiet, happening in the unseen places where faith has to grow stronger than what your eyes can see. But we know the One who knit those nerves together in the first place, and we trust Him to bring them fully back to life.

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6
“For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord.” – Jeremiah 30:17
“We walk by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7

So we’ll keep praying, keep trusting, and keep celebrating—even the smallest steps forward. Because healing is happening—in his arm, in our hearts, and in the church we get to call home. God is in every detail of it.

Common Mistakes Made When Writing a Will

Writing a will should, by all means, be a simple thing. You want to make sure that your assets are being left to your loved ones and that your final wishes are being fulfilled. Usually, they are rather straightforward, but that doesn’t mean that they are entirely foolproof. Here, we’re going to look at some common issues that can lead to disputes or delays in carrying out your will. Image - CC0 License Not Having It Witnessed Correctly One of the most common mistakes when writing a will is not having it witnessed correctly. Wills generally require the signatures of at least two witnesses who are not beneficiaries or spouses of beneficiaries. If the will is not witnessed in accordance with legal requirements, it may be declared invalid, meaning your estate would be distributed according to intestacy laws, which may not align with your wishes. It’s important to follow the witnessing procedures exactly as outlined in your jurisdiction to ensure the will is legally enforceable. Chan...
