Faith-Filled Finds: 4 Christ-Centered Kids Books Your Church Classrooms Will Love @thestoryofgodsgreatlove @zonderkidz #kidsbooks #zonderkidz #kidseastergifts #sponsored #ad
Even though my kids are grown, there’s something so special about opening up a beautiful children’s book rooted in God’s Word. I recently had the chance to go through a few new titles, and while I may not have little ones at home anymore (hence the stuffed animals making a guest appearance in my photos 😊), I immediately thought of our church classrooms and the children who will be so blessed by these.
I truly appreciate kids books that don’t shy away from truth but instead present it in a way that is both engaging and deeply rooted in Scripture. These four books do just that—each one offering something unique while pointing children back to Jesus.
Jesus, Our True Friend
Jesus, Our True Friend is a beautiful collection of seven stories from the life of Jesus that clearly and lovingly share the gospel message. Each story reminds children that Jesus came as our Rescuer—to mend what is broken, bring us back to God, and show us what true love really looks like.
The storytelling is heartfelt and easy for kids to understand, yet it doesn’t water down the truth. I love how it consistently points back to God’s deep love for us. The illustrations are warm and inviting, making it a joy to read aloud or explore independently. This is the kind of book that plants lasting seeds of faith in young hearts.
Hey-O! Coloring Book
If you’re looking for something interactive, the Hey-O! Coloring Book is such a fun addition! With over 90 pages of coloring content and tear-out pages for easy display, kids can creatively engage with Bible stories in a hands-on way. This isn’t just about coloring—it’s about reinforcing biblical truths while building fine motor skills and encouraging imagination. I love that kids can take what they’re learning and express it creatively. It’s perfect for church classrooms, keeping kids engaged while still centered on God’s Word.
The Glorious Image of God
The Glorious Image of God beautifully explains a deep and important truth: what it means to be made in God’s image. This can be a difficult concept for children to grasp, but this book does a wonderful job of making it clear and relatable by pointing everything back to Jesus. I especially love how it speaks to identity and self-worth in a Christ-centered way. It reminds children that they reflect God and are created with purpose and value. This is such an important message for young hearts, and it opens the door for meaningful conversations about who they are in Him.
Deep Breath, Little Whisper
Deep Breath, Little Whisper is a gentle and practical introduction to prayer for children. Through the concept of breath prayers, kids learn that talking to God can happen anytime, anywhere—through quiet whispers, quick thanks, or simple praises.
This book does a beautiful job of showing that prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. Instead, it invites children into a peaceful, ongoing relationship with their Heavenly Father. I love how it also helps kids navigate their emotions while turning their hearts toward God. It’s calming, encouraging, and deeply rooted in truth.
Final Thoughts
Each of these books brings something special to the table, but what I love most is that they are all firmly grounded in biblical truth. Whether through storytelling, creativity, identity, or prayer, they all point children back to Jesus in meaningful ways.
I may not have little ones at home anymore, but I know these books are going to be so loved in our church classrooms. Resources like these matter—they help build a strong foundation of faith in the next generation.
