Book Review: The Blessings of Friendship Treasury By Mary Engelbreit

Publisher's Description The Blessings of Friendship, created by New York Times bestselling author and artist Mary Engelbreit, is a playful and poignant treasury of poetry, Bible verses, and quotes that celebrate the joy of friendship. Author Bio Mary Engelbreit grew up studying the illustrations in the vintage storybooks of her mother’s own childhood, and she developed a unique style that harkens back to those simpler times. Mary’s distinctive images have made her a celebrity to millions, who eagerly snap up gift items, calendars, books, fabrics, and more. Mary’s dearest wish has always been to illustrate for children. Her New York Times bestselling  The Night Before Christmas  is already part of the holiday tradition for families across the country. My Review This book is a compilation of many works that talk about being a nice friend.   When I read it with my children I was able to stop on many pages and discuss the true meaning of some of the mi...

Ice Cream Tour #4- Peachwave

Yes, this is another frozen yogurt place!   The family and I headed there after having some fun swimming at a local pool.   I LOVE SUMMER AND SWIMMING! I am going to be real and just tell you that I was not impressed with Peachwave.   The flavor of the yogurt was not good and the toppings did not seem very fresh to me.   My children still enjoyed their treats so that was good.    One neat thing that Peachwave offered that the other yogurt places I have been to is this handy divider so you can get more than one flavor.  I tried peanut butter with cookie dough with vanilla and heath toppings.   The cookie dough did not taste right and the peanut butter yogurt didn't have much peanut butter taste.   The look and feel of Peachwave was great!   I liked the neat tables and the place seemed very clean.   The price was .45 cents per ounce.   For our family I felt like we spend way to much for ice crea...

Pastor Wife Perk- Welcoming Babies! :)

One of the perks to being a pastor wife is going to the hospital and meeting the new babies!   This summer we have two ladies from church having babies and the first one made her appearance on the 4th of July!  :)   I love babies!!!!   :)   I had the opportunity to be one of the first ones to hold her and while I did I was making declarations for her little life!

Flooding on the Levee

It was a very wet June and thankfully the water level has gone back down but here is a picture of the levee a day before the crest of the water happened.   Davenport IA was much worse as there were several businesses that were affected by the water and the water caused many roads to shut down.   This was my first experience at real flooding... I mean there was some flooding in Wisconsin but nothing that made a major impact for more then a day.
Happy 4th of JULY!!!    We had a busy day on the 4th but we ended it at the park enjoying the awesome weather and beautiful fireworks.  Early in the day my husband was working on a church project but then we some how transitioned to staining our deck!   Long story short he was  going to stain the floor at church but it was too dark so instead of wasting the stain and poly we used it on the deck!  IT LOOKS AWESOME!   I love my family and am so thankful God has given me each of them!   They are so important to me! The other girl on the bottom is our intern so she is now officially part of the family!  :)   We sure are blessed to live in a nation where we can be free and freely worship him!   THANK YOU PAPA GOD!  I am also very thankful to all the men and women who have served this great country and I will continue to pray for your safety and your families!

Antique Archaeology

My mother in-law snapped this picture when she was here visiting us.   I can't stop looking at it and shocked at how much my little girl looks like a little model.   Sometimes the best photos are not the posed smiling ones!  I have to try to do that more!   Have any of you been to the Antique Archaeology building?   They just created another building and it looks fantastic.   I love the workers too as they are super friendly!

Review: Ozeri Fresko Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Mill and Grinder,

I am reviewing a different salt and pepper grinder from Ozeri and I have to be honest I LOVE THIS ONE MORE!   I like this one so I gave my other one away.   My Review: The best feature of this salt n pepper grinder is that it is two separate ends so there is no mixing of the salt and pepper as opposed to the other grinder from Ozeri.   The adjustment can also be made on the finer salt or pepper you wish to create.   This product is safe and is BPA free and it is small so it does not take much room on the dinner table.  It is easy to fill and easy to use! The silver color is also fantastic!    Product Description The Ozeri Fresko Duo Salt and Pepper Grinder is designed in Germany and handcrafted using the highest quality stainless steel. Boasting a space-saving design that combines BPA-free salt and pepper chambers in one grinder, the Fresko Duo offers a chic form factor that both looks good on the dining table and store easil...
