New Washer and Dryer

With the move came this little present to me from my husband, front loader washer and dryer!  :)  It truly is nice to have a front loader since I am so short and bending down with the other style was annoying!  Next up to change in the toilet because it is so tall and I will admit my feet are dangling.  Don't laugh at me...it is a big problem!  Actually I think we will save for a new fridge since the one we have still has a bit of a smell.  :(  Any advice for cleaning it?

Our new adventure in Iowa

I think you all are aware that we sold our house in Wisconsin and moved this week to Iowa where my husband is the new head pastor of a church here.  It is a fun new adventure but this mom is exhausted and ready for a nice day of rest.   Here are a couple pictures to showcase our new town.   We live in the same town as American Pickers, how cool is that!  :) This is the view from my deck!  Good morning sun and hello Mississippi River!  Or should I say Mississippi's river like my daughter says.  ;) I hope to show you more pictures once we get more settled.  It has been a lot more work then just unpacking as we are still doing some home improvements on the house.  My kids are adjusting well but my dog is being a big baby.  She is so confused and is showing some signs of depression.  Time for a long walk for her and some doggy treats.   I am of to catch some zzz's.   I also have two job int...

WummbleBox Review

WummelBox is a new kids activity box subscription!   With the Wummelbox, kids and parents discover and experience the art of play together in an exciting, new way. Every month, kids dive into a brand new world with each box. The box themes range from “Light and Shadow”, “Time Travel” to “Balanced Nutrition”. We never reveal the theme of the next box. The surprise can only be revealed by opening the new Wummelbox. Our changing, monthly themes are always chosen based on the context: for example based on the current season or centered around certain festivals like carnival or Olympia, etc. Every Wummelbox delivers a new surprise straight to your doorstep. In order to keep it that way, we are constantly collecting ideas for new Wummelboxes and exciting projects. Our boxes are designed to be fun and promote the different fields of child development, rather than simply to keep kids “occupied”. This is why all our projects are developed with the help of educators and creative ...

More Good- Bye's

Yesterday was my last day watching my day care boy.   My son obviously has no idea what is happening with this move but those two boys will miss each other.   I am so thankful for the opportunity to watch this little guy over the last school year.  He was a fun boy and my son had a fun year learning and growing with him.   I felt spoiled with a great going away present, a cute photo mug with lots of pictures of the boys, a Starbucks gift card (I already had one Frappuccino from it...it was so good) and a great letter of recommendation.  I will miss this wonderful family!

Book Review: "Sparkly Me"

I received a kindle version of  "Sparkly Me"   by Ally Nathaniel and illustrated by Sugar Snail. in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions expressed are my own and I was no paid for this review.  This book reminded me of my own distraction to things that sparkle, shine, or glisten.  Myself along with many other females probably can agree that things with glitter are better then without.  :)   This adorable story is perfect for those girly girls you may have at home!  I love the girl in the story and her love for sparkly things.  My daughter is 5 and she enjoyed this book.  I think most girls between 3-7 would also enjoy the message in the book.   Make sure to check out the author, Ally, Website.

Selling Lemonade to Beat Leukemia

The weather was a bit cool but we stilll went out and sold some lemonade, brownies, and rice krispie treats all to raise funds for our Light the Night Walk.   We raised $27.00-  WOOT!  Every little bit helps!  :)

Book Review: Who's Under the Bed?

I received a kindle version of "Who's Under the Bed"   by Ally Nathaniel and illustrated by Sugar Snail. in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions expressed are my own and I was no paid for this review.  I love the character swap in this familiar children's story.  Rather then a child being scared a monster is under the bed, a monster is scared a child is under the bed.   The simple switch of characters allow kids to take a new perspective on monsters.  Monsters are no longer a scary figure but instead they are just like children.   I love the pictures and the easy to read format for an easy reader book for new readers.  My 2 and 5 year old both enjoyed the story and we have read it several times over.  My 5 year old realized the switch in characters and had a hoot laughing through the story.
